“Amazing hotel and great staff!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 June 2014

Celay Hotel definitely deserves to be number 1 on here. My sister and I (aged 19 and 22) stayed here first time, for a week and we didn’t want to leave! The staff could not do anymore for you. They were very welcoming and friendly and work so hard all day every day to keep the guests entertained and happy. We felt we had a very relaxing holiday with so many laughs and memories.
The hotel and pool area was well maintained and clean and had beautiful surroundings. We stayed in the deluxe room which was spotless and met all our needs. Although the hotel is a distance (25 mins stroll) to Hisaronu, a busy and vibrant town during the evening, it was a perfect location for us as there was no noise from traffic or other hotels. The dolmus will take you to Hisaronu for only 2 lira from the main road in Ovacik or a taxi is 15 lira from the hotel. We would recommend visiting Olu Deniz beach where the entry fee is well worth it for 7 lira.
Thank you to all who work there and made our holiday one not to forget! We will definitely be returning very soon and will be recommending this hotel to our friends and family.

We had a standard room, no option to upgrade, management seemed irritated that we had cancelled my elderly father's room; Jet2 holidays fault for not informing them (1 day after booking).
Room was comfortable, clean, ample wardrobe space, tiny balcony over looking the pool.
Arrived Friday 11:30pm, first warm shower Wednesday
afternoon despite temp outside (solar panels) 30c +. Informed taps put on wrong way!! Not true.
I can't agree that the location is "perfect" nor "fantastic" ; its set up in the mountains, a good 10 -15 minute steep walk up hill. You need to walk down onto the 2nd main road, passing Turtle bar & restaurant (excellent food & really good value) to catch a dolmus into Oludeniz or Fetiyhe, about 10 mins for 3 lira
The hotel itself is spotless, food fantastic, staff really helpful and friendly, I think if you're in the click of annual returners then you're ok, don't dare complain about the lack of hot/warm water as I think it's frowned upon, spoke to many other newbies who had no warm water either so wasn't just us.
In summary if you are happy to sit around the very nice pool (set alarm for 5:30am in order to get your same spot) every day eat good food and have a good laugh with the bar staff and can cope with cold showers then this hotel is perfect for you

The Hotel staff are so warm and welcoming, you feel at home once you've arrived. Everything, I mean Everything is spotlessly clean. The maids clean your room every day, fantastic food, great bar, lovely pool, great chefs, lovely staff and a fantastic owner!!! You have a great choice to turn left and head for Hisaronu and Olu Deniz or turn right for Fethiye, only 4 TL on the dolmus!

Will definitely be back there soon!!

Celay Hotel is fantastic. It's in a beautiful location surrounded by green mountains, the facilities are great, the rooms are great, the pool is great and above all the staff are absolutely wonderful. Turkish hospitality has to be the best in the world! Unbelievably friendly and helpful, Oran, Ur, and hilarious Aguero (excuse spellings!) in particular really made the holiday. We now understand why nearly all of the people we spoke to during our stay are returners - 3 x, 5 x, 10 x! We stayed in a deluxe room, I'm not sure what the other rooms are like they looked nice too but our room was really lovely so upgrade! We stayed Bed & Breakfast, breakfast is Turkish style bread, eggs, cheese, salad, yoghurt and fruit. Everything is very reasonably priced we sometimes bought breakfast off of the menu, lunch, Ice creams, thousands of bottles of water, wine, beer and cocktails daily and the bill ranged from 50 to 80 lira - £26 max! Amazing! It's a great location - 15 mins walk past two lovely mosques and shops to get to Hisaronu, 15 min bus ride (3 lira) both to Fethiye and Oludeniz, plus if you're feeling tired after a meal out a taxi to Celay from Hisaronu is only 15 lira. Buses run really late as well and they're really lovely! Fethiye Market is on Tuesdays, recommend it. Also recommend a Turkish bath but not from Royal Turkish Baths - we were persuaded by our rep not to go where we originally planned (Sanctuary Spa) as Royal Bath was cheaper. Definitely a wrong move it was ok but a bit shabby and dirty and not a luxury feel at all. Check out Sanctuary Spa Turkey reviews - amazing - and go there. We will next year.
Price of average meal - starter 5-16 lira main 16-35 lira
Wine - bottle 35 lira, glass 7lira
Beer large 7 lira
Average bill for 2 starters, 2 mains, wine, water and dessert - 130 lira
Best restaurant? Suzanne's in Hisaronu simply superb in every way. Second best The Olive Tree, third Pine Hill. Look them up and give them a visit! Also, Shiraz in Ovacik literally down the road from Celay is new and already rated number 2 in area, very nice. Give that a go too!
Tip don't got to a private beach in Oludeniz and pay for sun loungers (unless you want to!) as the main beach is actually a lot nicer and free and the water was a lot nicer to swim in.

All in all we had a fab time the only problem was we were only there for a week! 2 weeks next year!

i've been back time and time again. i took my grandchildren and they loved the pool. every where is clean. you have nice size rooms. always cleaned daily. good breakfast. friendly staff. plenty of sun loungers. just a short walk and your in the village. and a taxi back as its a bit of a hill walking back!. over all this is excellent value for money .there is also a great turkey night at hotel. the beach is just a short taxi ride or bus ride away.

Room Tip: pool view rooms with all standard rooms.

Returning to the Celay is always a great experience , at this time of year it's quiet in and around the resort which suits us fine.
The staff always make our stay fun and problem free, Ovacik is growing so the area is filling up with new build accomodation . The view of BabaDag mountain from the hotel pool area is still breathtaking, only £50 to jump off the top!!!
We plan a return to Celay soon.
