“Lovely little b&b - great hosts!”
Reviewed 23 June 2013

We stayed here for one Saturday night on 22nd June 2013. My partner and I both work on City trading floors an thus are generally fairly demanding in standards. Our room (room 3) was light bright and airy with a lovely big deep bath, which along with a great selection of tea/coffee/aero hot chocolate made the room incredibly relaxing bolt hole, which was ideal given that we'd come away for some r&r. Beds very comfortable, though some thicker pillows would've been my only suggested improvement, though this is personal preference. There is no parking at the b&b but we had no problems finding somewhere on the road, even on a Saturday afternoon in late June. Location-wise it's 5 minutes into the town centre which is well appointed and as expected for a small coastal town. Having eaten at some lovely restaurants in my time, I can honestly say that was one of the nicest cooked breakfasts I've ever had the pleasure of eating, clearly made with top quality ingredients and accompanied by a cafetiere of fresh coffee. There was a huge bowl of berries on the side which looked divine, but no greek/natural/vanilla yoghurt which was a shame, only flavoured yoghurts. Both the hosts were friendly and welcoming, though not over friendly (which can be uncomfortable in a smaller establishment). When asked if we could use the iron the following morning to iron my partners shirt after breakfast, they insisted on ironing it for him and bringing it up to our room, despite them being busy serving breakfast to other guests, which we were incredibly touched by. Overall, I've stayed far more expensive places for a far lesser standard of quality and service in every respect - at £70 for a large double room which could accommodate a family, I think this is great value and would recommend.

Spent just a few days at this excellent well located B AND B for the perfect seaside escape! Vicky and her husband find attention to detail important, our room was decorated well and cleaned to a v.high spec, they were always on hand to be helpful but not overbearing. Our grandaughter loved her time in Cromer and we booked immediatley to return Aug.2013. Youthful grandparents with zest for fun found this gorgeous retreat perfect spot for some adventure !

My wife and I have just returned after spending a 3 night break,we found it very clean comfortable and friendly.A very good nights sleep and a plentiful breakfast. The only negatives were no electrical sockets near the mirror for the hair dryer without moving the set of draws, street parking at a minimum even in October.

We didn't book anywhere to stay, we just drove to Cromer and parked on the street and knocked on the door, thankfully she had a family room available for 2 nights. we were slightly apprehensive about what the room would be like as we had no details on the B&B however we shouldn't have worried. we were shown up to our room and were very impressed, it was a spacious room very clean and well decorated. lovely comfortable double bed for us and a comfy single bed for our daughter. the owner quickly made the single bed up whilst we were fetching bags from the car so she didn't have to disturb us later. Bathroom was a good size, very clean. Breakfast was cooked to everyone's liking, full English for us all. very good value for money and if we ever visit Cromer again we will definitely try and book in at the Albury.

My wife and I spend 3 midweek nights here, and found the accomodation to be excellent. We received a warm welcome (with parking assistance provided!), the room was even better, and breakfasts were top-notch. Room facilities were good (en-suite a little small though), and good use made of the space with wardrobe and chest of drawers, side tables etc. The whole place was very clean and smart, with modern and contemporary furnishings and designs - none of the "old-folks-home" style that many B&Bs seem to have! In a nice and bright dining-room you'll need to steel yourself for a large Full English breakfast that is superbly cooked by Vicky herself, or ask for an alternative if you like. Fresh juices, yoghurts, cereals, toast all available too.

The one downside was the parking - as it was high season, day-trippers use the side-roads for free parking, which limits the spaces for residents in these roads - but we managed ok! The town is within easy walking distance - just over 5 mins to the pier and main shopping area. The town has lots of good quality independant shops, along with a few major chains too. Good places to eat are The Garden Street Grill, The Wellington Courtyard restaurant, Bella Vista and Red Lion. If you're going to the Seaside Special evening shows, check them out for pre-show meals at special prices....

We found the place to be excellent value for money, and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others - unless you're a fussy and grumpy soul!

Room Tip: Rooms at the back may be less overlooked.
