“peaceful resort in a great location”
Reviewed 4 August 2011

We stayed in a one bedroom villa here as members of Diamond resorts. The accommodation was great for a couple, but would have been a little cramped for more than two, our villa was in a quiet location, very close to the cliff tops and the steps to the beach. We did not use the facilities provided by the club preferring to self cater, but they did look very nice and the restaurant seemed reasonably priced. The resort is very well positioned to tour the local area and providing you do some research there is plenty to do if you enjoy walking, swimming in the sea and visiting National Trust properties . We would definitely come here again

A week long stay at Diamond Resorts, Cromer Country club. This was our second stay here, and it was worth the second visit.

Excellent service, accomodation, Villa 33, although you require to access the Villa via steps. Some accomodation requires access via steps, but some do not. If you have difficuly with steps then request a villa with little/no steps.

We stayed in a 2 bed villa, newly refurbished, usual excellent standard of accomodation. 1 beds are available. Kitchen was well equipped, with dish washer, oven/hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and kettle etc.

On site bar/restaurant was good, with special theme night on most nights. Garry Taylor the resident entertainer, was excellent.

Well done Diamond Resorts again.

Stayed here with my daughter, sister and husband for 2 nights. Chose this hotel to get 2 bedrooms together. Disappointed to find overflowing rubbish and empty wine bottles outside our front door. The wine bottles were removed but the rubbish remained for the duration of our stay. Apparently it only gets collected twice a week. Hotel was ok otherwise, a little tired perhaps.

Have just returned from a superb week, staying at this resort. We cannot speak more highly of all the staff there, who were always courteous and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The one bedroom villa was very clean and comfortable and the standard of service by way of mid-week cleaning, supply of fresh towels etc. was superb. The overall accommodation was excellent with a well equipped kitchen. The bedroom (1 double bed)was a little small in our villa. The reception staff were very helpful and informative - on arrival, everything was explained, with maps of locality etc. and they were always very helpful when we called there during the week for information and/or newspapers etc. The Amber Restaurant & Bar area was excellent - the staff here were always pleasant, helpful and welcoming. The choices on the Menu were excellent (something for everyone) and we would like to mention in particular there were several vegetarian choices - one of us is a veggie! - and it was so good to have more than one option! There were also "specials" and though we did not personally choose these - a curry night and italian night, though the normal menu was still in place. The restaurant was spotless and it had a really nice ambience. The food was superb - well cooked - and well presented. Staff were very attentive but not intrusive and waiting times for the food were very acceptable. It was a pleasure to eat here and in our opinion very good value. Overall, this was a very pleasant stay - the villa was nicely located overlooking a pleasant garden area. We will certainly return to this resort if we decide to holiday in this area again - the site generally is well kept - with beautiful flower beds - everything like a new pin - there was only one downside - and that was it is a rather hilly site so might be difficult if you have mobility issues. All in all, a great week - plenty of places to visit in this area also - combined with pretty villages and nice coastal areas. Well done Norfolk!

My family went to cromer for my birthday which is in August my dad suggested we go there(i didn't think much of it at the time while we were home). When we got there, and i was wondering where we were going to stay so we checked in and we saw it was these lovely villa's. But when we found ours and went in it was, lets say this better than Travelodge i would say better than premier inn but they charge you alot and you have to get you own breakfast lunch and dinner. And they had this golf course aswell.

Stayed in a 2 bedroom villa in May 2011 with my wife and baby which I booked through Cottages4You.co.uk. The master bedroom was tiny, there was a standard double bed but only about 1 foot of space between the foot of the bed and the wall, and the window side of the bed and the wall. The bed itself was too small for comfort, we have a king size bed at home and it felt like sharing a single bed, my wife was pregnant which didn't help. The sofas were horrible, again too small, covered in watermarks where stains had been sponged off, threads were hanging off the armrest covers and the sofas themselves were cheap and uncomfortable. The owner had very kindly left a VHS video player in the living room with a selection of videos so we could pretend it was the 1980s. There was a strip of laminate skirting trim in the vase when we arrived. The second bedroom and bathroom had a funny damp smell, probably because there were no back windows so you couldn't get any air circulation through the flat. The heating or cooling system, not sure what it was, looked like it was from the ark so we didn't attempt to use it all week. The plastic toilet seat came completely off half way through the week. The shower curtain had ripped away from the last 2 eyelets. The extractor fan in the bathroom came on automatically with the light, sounded like a spaceship taking off and stayed on for 10 minutes. Very annoying in the night or when you are watching TV and pop to the loo. The plastic bath panel was caved in at the foot of the bath on one side. The layout of the accommodation was bad if you have young children. Both bedrooms were directly off the living room area, which made watching TV at normal volume with a baby sleeping 8 feet away difficult. The only good bits about the accommodation was the push button power shower, the kitchen, and the TV. Really disappointing overall. The Cromer Country Club itself was OK although not quite what I would expect based on the country club moniker, it did have a nice, very clean indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. The food in the restaurant was good value for money. Try the sharing platter, it was excellent. Staff at the check-in desk were lovely and I couldn't fault the customer service at Cottages4You, they offered to relocate us but the alternative was 7 miles inland with 1 bedroom which wouldn't work with a baby who goes to bed at 7:00PM.

We are sorry to hear of you recent disappointment regarding the villa accommodation you were allocated via Cottages4You. There are only a few privately owned villas at the resort that are within the letting programme via Cottages4You who inspect the accommodation at the beginning of the year to ascertain the suitability. As this was one of the properties inspected by their representative and placed into the letting programme we will indeed forward your comments on for their attention. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the comments you have made about the resort itself in particular the facilities and customer service you experienced during your stay which is under our own DRI management.
