“Well done again to Cromer Country Club”
Reviewed 17 May 2012

We have just returned from our second visit to Cromer CC and would like to congratulate them on the excellent service and amenities. We are Diamond Resort Members (when people book they do not realise that this is essentially a timeshare resort). Cromer is in our opinion the best DRI resort in the UK, with friendly, approachable staff and an excellent restaurant. Jonny who is in charge of the entertainment is a great asset to this resort and the programme of events is varied and suited to different age groups.

The resort is very hilly but this is not something that bothers us but we would be unable to bring our elderly parents to this resort. We had a studio apartment this time and as usual it was perfectly equipped with all the items we would need. We have booked a 2 bedroom apartment for Christmas and are sure we will have a great time at Cromer. Keep up the good work Kelly and your team.

We booked to stay here mothers day weekend. When we arrived, there were around 15 steps from the car park to the reception area, not great with a 1 year old! We arrived early and so couldn't check in, we were advised to come back later or leave a number for someone to call us (which was good!)

We went to the bar for some food, again more steps!

The call came that the room was ready, we had pre-ordered a cot on the website, but this wasn't provided so had to contact reception. Cot was delivered, but due to the size of the bedroom, the cot could only go in the living room. This would have meant that our daughter would be in the same room as we would be spending the evening eating and watching tv - not practical!

When we called reception again, we were told there was nothing that could be done and that the only option was to have to pay to upgrade to a 2 bedroom villa.

We decided to cut our losses and go home and asked for a full refund, but we're told as we had checked in they could only refund the second night!

On the way home the booking agent called us to say they would refund the first night aswell - but it took a full 6 weeks to get the money retuned to the card, despite several e-mails.

The grounds are very hilly and do not facilitate buggys / Push chairs and the amount of time we had to wait for our refund was unacceptable. Promises were not delivered on and if you have a child in a cot you will need to pay for a two bedroom villa as the 1 bedroom villas only fit a double bed and nothing else!

We appreciate you taking time to submit this review based on your experience at Cromer Country Club and are disappointed that our resort did not fulfil your requirements. Firstly we would like to highlight that we endeavour to provide as much information on our reservation confirmations as we can to ensure the resort is suitable for all our guests. The resort is located on a steep hillside (near to cliffs) and so the accommodation is built in varying gradients and levels, meaning there are quite a number of steps to access all areas of the resort.
Our resort accommodation does vary in terms of size, location and amenities and not all accommodation will comfortably fit an extra bed (cot) in the bedroom. We will always try to offer a solution if our guest’s accommodation is not to their satisfaction – for example, to temporarily remove furniture like dressing tables which would provide more space in the bedroom or subject to availability we will try and make alternative rooms available. There will in some cases be an option to upgrade to a larger apartment providing the relevant upgrade fee is paid.
We do understand from your review that your expectations were not met on this occasion and for this reason we are sorry that you made the decision to check-out early. Whilst it was too late for us to utilise the accommodation which you had booked we are pleased we were able to refund your stay in full.

Amazing few days break spent here. Lots to explore on the walks along to the promanard. Great food here. Staff so friendly , very hilly but car park at top of hill so easily accessible. Houses / apartment lovely cosy place. Was a home from home. Did NTSC want to leave .

Room Tip: Anywhere with view of lighthouse has to be done. Gorgeous

Just come back from weekend break for my mother's birthday and I have to say it was a very good weekend. We were worried that it wouldnt be any good, but those worries soon went, the staff were friendly and helpful, and the appartments were better than expected!!! The studio appartment was certainly big enough for 2 people, the large appartment was a house (not what we were expecting).
The food was great and good value, they only do breakfast at weekends, but to be fair considering the appartments are self catering it really is not an issue, they were able to assist with special dietary needs, but we did inform them a few days before to in sure that was suitable food available.

Some apartments are better than others, and the one we stayed in was ok, but not the best for views, and lots of steps. Apartment did not smell fresh the whole time we were in it (especially bathroom and kitchen), also carpets could do with a clean. Food in restaurant was ok, although we struggled to get a table, and had not been informed we needed to book in advance. 4pm checkin is too late. Overall price for apartment has significantly increased from last year. The best facility is the pool, sauna etc.

We arrived at Cromer Country Club. On 7th April for a two night break.
A party of six including my mother and Aunt in their eighties and ninety in a two bedroom villa
The villa we stayed in was lovely, we were able to drop off the elderly members of our party at the door and drive the very short way back to the car park.
The villa was spotlessly clean furnished in a modern style on two floors.
We had a dish washer, washing machine full cooker microwave coffee maker and every home comfort in kitchen appliances. There was a TV in the master bedroom as well as the lounge and a DVD player. Two bathrooms, one on each floor. One with tub and shower over ,the other a walk in shower.
A large patio leading off the lounge .with pleasant views and lots of different bird life to watch.
The usual Diamond welcome tray with tea coffee and milk, plus tiny Easter eggs for everyone.
We had been in the villa less than half an hour when the reception rang to check that everything was to our liking. I asked for another sheet for the sofa bed and could not believe how quick this arrived. The lady who brought it also sent out for a mattress topper for our sofa bed to give us a higher level of comfort this duly arrived less than five minutes latter , the staff were very helpful and friendly.
The heated pool ,sauna ,steam room and Jacuzzi were excellent along with the changing rooms ,hair dryers body lotion and shower caps bags for wet swimwear all provided at no further cost .The lockers only requested a deposit of £1.00 which was returned when you unlocked it.
The reception staff were very nice they assisted us with ideas for paces to take our elderly relatives on Easter Sunday.
We used the bar and Amber restaurant on three occasions on our visit. The food in both the bar and restaurant was of a good standard as was the service we received.
My elderly relatives enjoyed the quiz night and there were plenty of other activities for children and adults each day.
The complex was spotless throughout and in a good location with a beach accessible by steps from the car park and lovely walks available for the able bodied.
It is only a very short drive to Cromer centre and easy to walk to .
The complex is on lots of levels and not easy for people who are disabled but we managed very well with our elderly relatives especially as they accommodated us with a villa a short way from the car park which incidentally had a pretty lighthouse in the grounds.
We are Diamond resorts members and would have to say that this resort was the best we have visited in the UK for comfort and excellent service.
Thank you everyone We hope to visit you again.

Stayed here at the beginning of March - the villa was spacious, clean and well equipped. The swimming pool and spa areas were clean and the bar and entertainment were fun. The food was very good and great value. The staff were also very friendly and helpful.

There were a lot of steps at the Club but they do say that in the description, but there are easier accessed villas for the less able bodied.

The Country Club is a great base for seeing Norfolk and would definitely recommend staying here. All in all a great place to stay and would definitely go back.

Room Tip: There were a lot of steps at the Club but they do say that in the description, but there are easier...
