Although perhaps a little past its glory days the hotel is clean, welcoming and warm. It is situated right on the front opposite the pier and within very easy reach of shops, buses etc. Rooms comfortable and plenty of room. Staff are very friendly and helpful, restaurant service quick and efficient. The food is well cooked and presented and waiting staff really nice. Entertainment good but lack of support must make it difficult for them.. Could do without the bingo! .

From start to finnish we enjoyed are stay, everywhere was clean, food brilliant, staff very friendly but not in your face. Worth paying extra for sea view, we had room 21 on the first floor, very large twin room directley overlooking the pier, beds a bit lumpy, plenty of tea coffee and milk. the power shower was amazing plenty of hot water at any time. The weather was not brilliant and the heating was on in the room so always warm when we got back from days out. would definatley recomend this hotel. My Mum is 82 and has very little, almost no sight and the this was the first time just the 2 of us have been away together, everyone from staff to other holidaymakers made her feel comfortable and not overpowering, thank you.

Room Tip: Pay extra for sea view, overlooking the pier, lots going on but cant hear a sound.

You can easily imagine that you are a wartime courting couple when you visit this place which doesn't seem to have changed much in decades, save that there are en-suite bathrooms and you can get wifi in reception. This hotel has a degree of elegance about it, albeit very dated, with revolving entrance doors, high ceilings, sweeping stairs and stained glass. The location overlooking the seafront and pier is truly outstanding, and it could not be be easier to park the car. Pity about the burnt toast a breakfast, but that is just a small detail.
In summary, there is nothing that a few million pounds of much-needed serious investment wouldn't sort out.

Still as friendly as ever, super clean enough for our 2 year old to crawl around without worrying & still a little tired in places, more an olde worldy patena which as many others have written, add something timeless to the stay, we would hate it if it changed anything.

Don't expect 'boutique chic', I've been there and would rather see a smile than some bright paint on the walls in the morning and surly staff.

The staff make this place such a hoot, great location, surprisingly good food....ohh and cheap house drinks!

Room Tip: room 42 has a great view ove the pier and very large even for 3 people.

My friend came over from New Zealand, after living there fore 15 years and had decided years ago she wanted to stay at this hotel, when she lived locally in Swaffham. I live myself only 52 miles from Cromer. So, we booked a twin room with a sea and pier view for a weekend. I could only stay the one night, but my friend stayed two.
We found it to be very clean, warm, comfortable and very friendly staff.. The breakfast was lovely.
So much so, that I have booked to stay again for next weekend with someone else.
The only problem was the very tiny car park and was a bit hard to find, unless you have a sat nav.
The foyer was impressive with a lovely large clock and the chandeliers are beautiful.
As a photographer, I got some lovely images of the pier from our window at different times of the day and night. Looking forward to returning next week.

Room Tip: Room 37 is fine if you are wanting a twin room and a photographer
