Agree with the other reviewers, the outside of this pub is a bit daunting, but inside the staff are lovely and the food and service good. We first ate here last year with my 2 boys and the place was empty. This year with the sun beaming down there were plenty of locals eating and drinking, which is a good sign. They open at 9am for breakfast then from 11 onwards offer food all day. Plenty of kids meals (at £3.15) and a huge variety of veggie meals and pub favourites. They do Cromer crab salads and sandwiches too. Good sized portions and plenty of real ales on offer. Ate here twice within 3 days actually we enjoyed it that much.

In desperation we decided to chance this pub in our search for the famous Cromer crab . We walked miles looking for a reasonable priced establishment offering this renowned dish . After strolling the area and looking at this pub we thought we would take a chance . It is an old looking pub not far from the sea front and we did not know what to expect . What a surprise !!! We were greeted by the Landlord we suspect with a friendly attitude and ordered a pint and a Crab sandwich with salad . Looking around the locals was an education and entertaining as we waited for our food . It came and was served by the landlord who was attentive and friendly . The food was superb !!! Many thanks to the staff and we will return again !!!

This pub could do with a bit of internal updating but apart from that everything else was excellent, staff were helpful and friendly, service was fast and efficient and food was very good for what amounts to quite a small public house. Locals were also friendly and its only downfall was that, at the moment, they do not do food after 6pm, and only 2.30pm on Thursdays.
Shame, but they filled the gap between the many other places that closed at 2.30pm every day and then re-opened at 6pm. Some of us want food at 'odd times' like 3pm or 5pm occasionally , so this fitted the bill for us.

From the outside looking through the door this pub looked almost scary, filled with a handful of locals. However we braved it and were so glad we did - the bar staff were so friendly and even the locals were happy to chat and humorous. A great selection of draught drinks and decent food menu meant we were able to pass a couple of hours away chatting and with the quiz machines. There is also a pool table and dart board. Prices are reasonable for the drinks too. It's location is great and just a few steps from the church and town centre.

If you want a great place for a relaxing drink then I'd highly recommend.
