“lovely weekend”
Reviewed 17 September 2012

Incleborough House was an ideal choice for a large family weekend. The house was amazing, spacious and well equipped. There were lovely touches, such as books and bathrobes for the kiddies, and the team there obviously thought about there guests.

The hot tub and outdoor recreation was brilliant, and the location being so close to the beach made it ideal for the kids aged 10,8,3,2 and 4 months as well as the adults.

Lastly, the home made cakes were just gorgeous, and it was really nice to have the fridge stocked. Thanks Nick and Barbara!

Thank you all so much again for these kind words. Barbara and I (and the staff) are delighted with your comments and your appreciation. The children’s dressing gowns were her inspiration and I have to say are causing quite a stir with the various young children when they arrive! Come back and see us soon, stay longer if you like next time, there's plenty to do and see, as you now know.

Many thanks, Nick & Barbara

My wife and I stayed at the cottage in November 2011 (sorry Nick and Barbara for not posting a review sooner!).

It was a difficult period in our life and we wanted a short break that provided comfort and a tad of luxury. Incleborough House provides both and some.

Our room was beautiful with a huge comfortable bed and lovely large bathroom. It overlooks a pretty garden and the feeling of being there is pure tranquility.

The house oozes charm and class, but the real reason to stay is Nick and Barbara. If it not for the cakes (you really can't turn down an afternoon treat, well treats more like), or the humungous, varied brekkie, or the helpfulness regarding what to do and where to go (never intrusive), what you will take away is the charm and genuine warmth they show you. They let us know that they always have been part of the hospitality profession and we can see why. If only all proprietors were cut from the same cloth!

You will want to visit Incleborough House if you intend a romantic break, taking the children away for seaside hols, basing yourself for the fantastic golf courses nearby (Royal Cromer and Sheringham being just two) or just to be looked after by brilliant people at a lovely location.

We'll be back to Incleborough house - with the new addition to our family!

Thanks Nick and Barbara

Jason & Joanne,

Thank you both for these kind words. Hopefully, all the ‘best bits’ of your B&B stay last year are now included as part of our self catering offering. Certainly the complimentary home made cakes, bread, wine and champagne that we provide on arrival appear to be welcomed by all!

Since we re-opened in March this year (after the extensive refurbishments) staying guests, young and old alike, have commented on the new levels of luxuries and increased facilities being “just awesome”.
We always try our best to offer a very personal service to all our guests, in all our 3 cottages and it is always very gratifying to hear that our efforts have been appreciated.
We look forward to seeing you both + 1 (+perhaps with friends/family) very soon.

All the best, Nick and Barbara

We stayed at Incleborough House during the last week of June 2012. Our party was made up of 9 adults, including my 86 year old mum, plus 2 children under 5 and 2 babies. We chose this accommodation because we thought it would cater for all our needs and 'WOW', it certainly did. The downstairs bedroom with en suite wet room was fantastic for mum. All her needs were catered for and she was extremely comfortable. Nick and Barbara, our hosts, went out of their way to prepare the children's bedroom for them, thinking of everything from 'Ben 10' dressing gowns and dinosaur bedding to children's books and dvds. Every bedroom was different, but all fitted out with the very best quality furnishings, the emphasis being on luxury and comfort. The garden was big enough to play football and housed a trampoline, small child's slide and wonderfully comfortable sun chairs. The hot tub was stunning, especially late in the evening under the stars with a glass of bubbly! The games room was perfect for the younger adults in our party. Great place to spend the evenings playing pool, chatting, watching the large screen tv or playing the wii. The beer fridge was a good idea too in this room. Every little detail has been thought about. The house is well located in the village of East Runton with a couple of pubs, great Greek restaurant, fish and chip shop and few shops close by. Beach only a short walk way and Cromer walkable too. Took us about 25 minutes without children, but twice that with the kids. A good alternative is the open top bus which runs from Cromer to Sheringham. All in all a beautifully equipped home, well worth a visit. We'll be back. Ginny and family, Sheffield

I was tasked with arranging golf and suitable accommodation for a group of 8 fortysomething golfers in May/June of 2012, and we chose to visit North Norfolk. Having made arrangements to play Royal Cromer, Sheringham, Royal West Norfolk (Brancaster) and Hunstanton (all fabulous courses, by the way), I was lucky enough to come across Incleborough House as our base. The property is a large 7-bedroomed self-catering property in East Runton, near Cromer, and if you are looking for top-quality self-catering accommodation in Norfolk for 7-14 people, look no further. This place is fab-u-lous! Incleborough House is a substantial but charming Georgian building with beautiful walled gardens and incredible facilities throughout - all rooms are spacious, luxurious and brilliantly appointed. Oh, and Nick Davies, who owns the property, is a pleasure to deal with. Enjoy.

Thanks for the comments Mark, your the first review we’ve had since converting the house to luxurious self catering. It makes us feel that all the effort, expense and hard work has been worth it.

We’re talking to the local golf courses in an effort to expand on our ‘golfing breaks’ as I think it worked well for all concerned. So watch this space ! Best wishes. Nick

just returned from Norfolk and our stay at Incleborough house, from the moment we arrived our hosts Nick and Barbara made us feel very welcome with an afternoon tea and home made cakes, we were then shown to the Rose room which has a gas fire, large screen tv, dvd player and every thing that is required to make a stay enjoyable. A free bottle of red and white wine, tea making facilities and even chocolate and fruit. We were then treated to an excellent meal in the conservatory and returned to the luxury of our room, We had organised the trip to coincide with my birthday and a trip to the Thurston Christmas Extravaganza. To make sure we were not sent off without food our hosts arranged an early inclusive high tea. The show was excellent and on our return we were treated to cheese and biscuits before retiring. Each morning a cooked breakfast awaited us, we can not recommend Incleborough House enough, peace and quiet and luxurious indulgence, this was our third visit and we look forward to our next, the numerous and prestigious awards are well deserved, thank you Nick, Barbara, Phil and not forgetting cook Lynne for another great stay.

Room Tip: All of the rooms are excellent and luxurious, some have baths, ours had a shower, some have fires, i...

This is a truly first class establishment that deserves its recent awards. We stayed one night in the master room , a really spacious room with luxurious furnishings and a very large , very comfortable bed. The bathroom was superb with the added treat of a tv at the end of the bath. As mentioned in the other reviews there were plenty of complimentary extras. The hosts were friendly and efficient. We really enjoyed our welcome tea and delicious cakes, and the breakfast was excellent and generous, my husband managing to eat kippers followed by the full English !
I noticed on their website they are now offering light evening meals by prior arrangement which is a very good idea.
The house itself is situated in a quiet position near the village green, just a short walk from the main coast road and the beach.

In my view, what makes a place to stay truly luxurious are good attention to detail and 'all those little extras' and Incleborough has both in abundance. Our room was georgous (Rose Room), the bed extremely comfortable, the shower room and seperate toilet both well heated with underfloor heating. The extras we are used to getting on arrival at other places, just kept coming every day of our stay (3 nights) - wine, tea/coffee, chocolate, peanuts, fresh fruit, soft drinks, newspaper, toiletries etc. not forgetting afternoon tea and home made cakes which will be left in your room if you ask in the morning, just in case you are not back in time to take it between 3.30-4.30pm. The breakfasts are truly wonderful - I can't imagine better. Altogether a lovely and very relaxing stay and Barbara and Nick are so helpful and friendly. If I had to make one criticism it is that we didn't see much in the way of help for walkers ie. trails or maps but then we didn't ask and instead we got what we needed from the local shop about 100 metres away and from the tourist information centre in Cromer. Also, the local caravan site on the main road put us off a bit initially, but once on East Runton beach you can hardly see them and this beach is well worth a visit.
