Rose garden is the nicest part. Generally good for walks, but not after a snow.

“A beautiful place to take a stroll.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 March 2010

We enjoy taking a walk here on a nice spring or fall day. The gardens are pretty and we also walk in the woods (somewhat hilly and muddy so wear hiking boots or at least snearkers) and the fields. Parts of the trails are near Route 287 so are noisy but mostly it is a quiet and peaceful place. The plantings in the parking lots are even nice to view. Unfortunately the gift shop is no longer open - we used to find good gifts here. It is free to walk here.

“stunning”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 November 2009

Went here last summer. So romantic, so stunning, so beautiful. Lots of land that you can just stroll through, gardens, benches, places to have a picnic, beautiful flowers, buzzing with the noise of insects. I would HIGHLY recommend coming here to relax or have a picnic or just have a stroll with a loved one.

The volunteers work very hard to keep the gardens beautiful & well groomed. It is a place to visit & relax with nature surround you. A wonderful escape from the hustle & bustle of the week. Try it!

“A beautiful garden in Morris County”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 December 2002

Frelinghuysen Arboretum is the beautiful arboretum in Morristown, NJ. We've picniced on the large lawn, walked the trail, visited the gardens and toured the gift shop all with small children in tow. It is a calm place to get inspired to work in your own garden. The gift shop has many unique gifts for the whole family. Well worth a visit during the gingerbread house display during the holiday season, as well.
