“Breakfast either way”
Reviewed 1 July 2013

I had the buffet and my wife ordered off the menu- great choices either way, well worth the price. No Omlets a bit of a disappointment.

“Good food, slow service.”
Reviewed 6 June 2013

Located in a very nice hotel in Morristown, parking is a plenty and the food is excellent. The express lunch is a great value. The room is modern and has a great business lunch feel.

“Great Sunday Supper”
Reviewed 8 May 2013

Blue Morel offers a Sunday Supper price-fixed menu at $29 per person. Although the selections are limited, our party of four tried a good cross-section of starters, entrees and deserts. All were well-prepared and attractively presented. Service was professional all the way down to the bus staff.
I would recommend Blue Morel Sunday Supper for a good way to be with friends or entertain family in a nice atmosphere with excellent food at a great value.

“Always a delicious meal ...”
Reviewed 7 May 2013

Over the 40 years I've been going to this address, it has morphed from a restaurant/lounge, with emphasis on the lounge and party scene in the 80's to a tacky decorated room with less than decent food in the 90's. I lost interest in this place for several years. 10 years or so ago, I was invited to dinner in this space, then called "Copeland's Restaurant". The food was good again. The atmosphere and decor tastefully redecorated and the staff was exceptional. It became a semi regular place to meet friends for dinner.
Seemingly overnight, the place changed names to Blue Morel. Although there is an expanded raw-bar and shellfish selection, the menu really didn't change that much, and the food seemed nearly the same. If there was a change in decor, it wasn't that noticeable to my eye. The wine list has a nice variety of type and price.
It still offers a nice bar area with seating on the side and a good bar-menu. It can get busy there if there's a wedding or event in the Governor Morris Inn (Upscale Westin Hotel), but the bar staff is attentive so you rarely wait for a drink.
A great place to dine with friends in an atmosphere conducive to good conversation.
Although it's in a Hotel ... it's far from a "Hotel Restaurant" and easily stands on it's own merit.

“Somewhat of a disappointment”
Reviewed 27 April 2013

I'd heard so much good about this restaurant that it was a bit of a let down once I got there. The appetizers, drinks and dessert were great but everything in the middle fell flat. The sunchoke and peanut soup was outstanding, along with the oysters and a salad we ordered. This was followed by a duck entree and a yellowfin entree that were lackluster. Everything was cooked well but no flavor or texture rang out to highlight the dishes. I would consider trying it again but at this price point, I expect excellence the first time.
