Hyatt Regency Morristown

After reading the negative comments about this hotel I was really dreading staying here - checked in early and found the front desk staff to be very friendly and accomodating. The health club was fantastic, wish it had been open 24 hours a day but sadly its not. The rooms were clean, but needed updating - which I was advised was to happen later this year. The hotel is located in a great area with great restaurants and shopping.

All in all I can't complain in the slightest with the great rate I received on the internet.

This hotel was right in Morristown, which was very nice. Parking in the hotel lot was free with validation from the hotel. The lobby was beautiful and the restaurant and bar looked very nice, but I didn't use either. The service was wonderful - very nice, used my name when addressing me. They treated me the same as a customer paying regular price (I got a decent price on hotwire).

The rooms were older and basic. But there wasn't any noise from the hall. It seemed a bit empty in the hotel. I wasn't thrilled with the rooms, but I guess the 4 stars are for service rather than the room itself.

Overall, pretty good.

Rooms are average - about like a Marriott but a bit larger. Liked the modern feel o fthe lobby and bar. Hopin' bar on a Tuesday night and great food! Met the chef - he is about 25 and loves food and does a great job - for a hotel. He stopped by periodically to see how I liked the food. I enjoyed it - certainly a refreshing stop for a foodie. If you are a hard core foodie get out and try the local fare; don't eat at the hotel but if you get in too late or are lazy you will get a nice meal.

What a beautiful hotel. Room was very large, king size bed. The 5th floor that I was on is NO smoking. The 15th floor is the only smoking floor. I will stay here again

I had business in the same complex where the hotel is located. The lobby and elevators are recently renovated and look very nice. That's where the good part stops.

The rooms are way outdated and mine was dirty and disgusting. I specifically requested a non-connecting Executive King, yet my room was connecting. I moved to a smaller non-connecting room. The rooms have little or no sound-proofing...a huge pet-peeve of mine. I could hear the footsteps of people upstairs from me. The room service was slow and the food was awful.

I was booked for three nights but only stayed one and moved to the Westin.

I will not stay at this Hyatt again....even if they renovate the guest rooms.

We stayed at the Hyatt Morristown for two nights while visiting area colleges. The room was booked via Priceline at a very good rate. The staff was responsive and helpful. The room was large, clean and well-furnished. We wished the blackout drapes covered the windows to the very bottom, as the room got very light an hour before we wanted to waken.
We had only one meal in the hotel, breakfast for two including two bowls of cereal, fried eggs with potatoes, two glasses of juice and two coffees for $44.
On a happier note we did find a couple of wonderful places to eat: Tim Schafer's on Speedwell is across the street from the Hyatt. This is a very good restaurant with excellent food and outstanding service. You might prefer a seat that does not face out the window, however, unless you enjoy watching a diverse cast of characters arriving for the club scene down the block. We shared three appetizers and two desserts for under $60.
The Swiss Chalet bakery, about 5 minutes from the hotel on Morris, is an excellent source for pastries, cookies and bread.
