“Nice Location”
Reviewed 28 March 2014 via mobile

This hotel is nicely located. It's within walking distance to many restaurants and shopping. I stayed on business. The rooms were clean but basic. There was a fridge in the room but it did not cool anything down. You could easily hear other guests and people walking from up above. I ate breakfast at the hotel - $14 for oatmeal (ouch!) I did have a salad at the bar one evening and it was very good. To find room service information, it was on the tv.

The guest services front desk were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. The room however was bare minimal as far as dresser space, sink counter space, There were plenty of pillows and the bed was extremely comfortable. The pool/spa are operated by an independent vendor so the hours & location weren't great. You had to walk through a common public area past a movie theater to access.

The biggest drawback of this hotel - leading to all sleepless nights - were the electric fan heating units that roared at airplane-level noise.

The hotel was great in other ways, though:

Free parking in the parking lot attached to the hotel: the front desk will validate the parking ticket. Park on level P1 close to the glass enclosed Hyatt elevator/entrance, which will take you up to the lobby (level M) which is directly across from the elevator bank leading to the rooms.

As a Diamond member, I stayed at 3 different suites: studio, plaza and premier. Studio is a big room with the bed and pullout couch; plaza connects two rooms (bedroom and living room with pullout, both have their own bathroom); premier has the most modern decor (Bose surround sound; bar table with tight fitted 6 stools; large screen desktop and printer) and 1 bathroom.

Toiletries were Kenet MD. Water (free for Diamond members) were two 1 liter bottles of Aquafina.

Breakfast: we tried the buffet that featured a station where an employee made both omelets and waffles (strawberries, whipped cream and syrup available). Oatmeal had macadamia nuts (that went bad) and dried fruit; standard hot items; pastries; sliced fruit including blackberries. The breakfast menu items included crabcake and pretzel croissant, which were a bit unhealthy - I would stick with the buffet.

Gym, pool and group classes are included in the room rate at The Club at Morristown, a separate third party gym facility a building away from the hotel.

Location was in town - across the street from Century 21 and local eateries, close to the unconnected sections of Morristown National Historical Park (Washington Headquarters, Jockey Hollow) and a 20 min drive to Short Hills mall.

I have stayed in many Hyatt hotels throughout the country and I'm continually impressed. It's great to have a home away from home when travelling for work. The Hyatt Morristown has a nice lobby and the rooms were very spacious compared to other hotels in the North East. What really did it for me was the genuine effort put forth by the hotel staff. Everybody and I mean EVERYBODY seemed happy to work there. A helpful staff can really turn a good stay into a great one. Otherwise, the location is central to all the good food and drinks in town. Hotel guests have complimentary access to a private fitness club which is a really nice change from the typical hotel gym. Highly recommended. If you need to stay in the area, stay at the Hyatt!

Room Tip: Upgrade to a Studio Suite if you have the option. Plenty of room to spread out.

We went to a show at the Mayo PAC and decided to take advantage of the Hyatt's reduced rates which were available thru the Mayo PAC website. The hotel was perfect for an overnight stay and close to the Mayo PAC. The hotel offered to drop us off at the venue & pick us up after the show. We were in our room probably 20 minutes after the show. The hotel lobby is impressive & the hotel room clean & comfortable. Both lobby & room were very nicely furnished. Woke up the next morning to breakfast & starbucks being served right there in the lobby. What could be better? A very professional hotel staff added to the enjoyable trip.

My girls and I stayed here for two nights from Feb28th- March 2nd. It is very centrally located right in the center of town. The hotel staff was very friendly and went out of the way to be helpful. The hotel was very clean and seemed to be recently renovated. The beds were very comfortable. There is a covered garage attached to the hotel and parking is free for hotel guests. We enjoyed the hotel restaurant for breakfast. They had a very nice buffet breakfast with an omelet and waffle station. As much as we enjoyed the hotel, there were a few negatives: the elevators are very old and tired looking and the walls between the rooms are very thin so you could hear every flush, water faucet, voices etc. from the rooms next door and in the hallway. Lastly, you had to pay for wifi or any internet connection, which should be free!
