“Refreshing change to the usual dog-friendlies”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 August 2014

We had a really special stay here this week. So often, the dog friendly hotels have stinky old horrible carpet. This is fresh and clean, with gorgeous decor and a warm welcome.
Dogs can go into most parts of the hotel, rather than being stuck in the back bar, yet the place looks like a cool gastro pub. When our dog barked to go out, she was given a dog biscuit by the lady running the bar :)
We found the food a little bit pricey, with veg etc all additional to the mains, but overall found it to be worth it, because we loved it.
The bathroom was a highlight - huge and sparkly clean and new. The bed was huge and fab too. Great place to stay.

We stayed 2 nights this week with our 3 dogs. Paul is a very friendly host and runs, with his Mum Tracy, a top class Inn. The rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. The food in the restaurant was 5 star and the two young girls Lottie and Laura were also friendly and very attentive. The whole place has a wonderful village feel. Lots of locals call in for a pint and everyone there seems to return again and again. Thank you to you all and we'll be back!

Arranged my partners 50th Birthday bash here inviting about 40 of our friends and family. Very much enjoyed by all, buffet was tasty and plentiful, staff spot on and live entertainment topped the night. Couldn,t have been better. Thankyou to Paul, Joe and all the girls you did us proud.

Live locally and had not tried The Wychwood. They have done a fabulous job on the refurbishment, very tasteful and customer friendly. There are two bars and plenty of tables for people to eat , they were holding a function in one of the dinning rooms. the service was very good the staff friendly and the menu not too extensive which can be mind boggling!!!! But the menu offered food to suit all tastes and was very very good, my husband had the calves liver and I had the Kelmscot sausages both a great choice and soooo tasty we shared sticky toffee pudding will be back thank you for a good night.

We stayed last night just 1 night away from our business and children to chill out. We were not disappointed all the staff were so attentive and very friendly our room was lovely and comfy with a massive bed!! And everywhere spotlessly clean. We had a snack at lunch and ate in the restaurant in the evening all beautifully cooked amazing steak and creme brûlée. The choice for breakfast was great too. The pub was busy in the evening but it won't too loud upstairs in our room and everything was quiet by 12ish. Overall we would highly recommend this and would definitely visit again, it was just perfect to recharge our batteries!! Thank you John and viki knight

on the occasion of my 66th birthday myself and 6 other fortunate family members had the most enjoyable evening at the wychwood inn, Paul the manager greeted us with the utmost charm and showed us to our table we were greeted by our waitress for the night Stevie, we couldn't have wished for a more delightful night of exquisite dining, from a very extensive menu to suit most tastes, we all agreed it was the best any of us had experienced in a long time. Nothing was too much trouble, it was a very busy evening for the staff but you still felt unrushed and that you were special. We will definitely be going back! and highly recommend it. Our thanks to all for making a birthday meal so special X

Stayed at the Wychwood Inn for two nights in December. We usually stay at "chain" hotels but decided to try a smaller hotel / inn with character, and we were not disappointed. We received a warm welcome, and our room was excellent. The decor in the public areas and private rooms is tastefully done - modern, yet blends in with the character of the original inn very well.
We ate in the Wychwood on both nights. Friday was very busy until the early hours with Christmas parties, which one would expect. However Saturday was less busy and we enjoyed our meal by a roaring log fire. Both meals were good and the breakfasts were superb.
Hope to return and see the area in the spring / summer months.
