“Perfect lodge for a fun weekend”
Reviewed 29 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We've been looking forward to the stay, and Three Bears lodge definitely lived up to our expectations. We stayed in Cedar Cabins. After a 5 hour hike at skyline loop trail, every one of us were tired and hungry, and went to the cabin. The cabin is in a private location, which provides very nice quiet environment but not distant from the main street. The rooms are very well cleaned and prepared. You can almost find everything you need in the house. Especially if you are cooking food there, you will find not only utensils, but also varieties of spices, cooking oil, spraying oil, and all kinds of accessories, etc. The propane grill seems new and definitely clean. We also tried the hot tub, which is a very fun experience, as well as s'mores. Highly recommended and we will definitely go with this cabin again next time we go there!

“Lovely, great customer service - but not a great fit for every family”

I rented Three Bears Lodge (the red A frame) for my family for Thanksgiving. The cabin is beautiful and very well appointed, lots of cozy places to sleep and curl up. The kitchen is gorgeous and well-equipped. The hot tub is enormous, hot and clean! Plus, the people who own and maintain the property are very responsive and kind.

All in all this is a lovely place to stay, but it wasn't a good fit for our family - here's why:

We had grandma, grandpa, me, my husband, a 7 year-old and 2 11 month-old twin boys in the cabin. The 7 year-old was the only one who slept well, the rest of us were up and down all night for a couple reasons.

Minimal privacy and some noise. The cabin is pine and the pine creaks with every move, every step.

Difficult to control the climate. The cabin doesn't seem very well-insulated so it doesn't hold heat. The heat would kick in every 10 min throughout the day and night, making this awful loud clicking noise. The temperature would rise a few degrees in various "hot spots" throughout the cabin, making the air hot stuffy and dry, and then the heat would turn off and the space would immediately cool.

The skylight leaked on the first night that it snowed. The maintenance folks offered to immediately rush out and deal with it, but we left a day early anyway because everyone was so tired and, the final straw, the power went out and there was no backup. With a little girl, 2 small babies and grandparents, there was just no waiting for the power to come back on.

We were very disappointed that there was no backup power and we had to leave early. I let the property owners know what had happened and asked for a refund, and they granted me a 1/2 day refund which I thought was very reasonable.

So, all told: I would recommend this place, it's wonderful, but perhaps not for grandparents and small babies!

“Relax in the Woods”

It was so nice to take a chance on a property and drive 2900 miles to stay in a place that was basically sight unseen and exactly as advertised. The only surprise was that the bathroom was downstairs and the 2 bedrooms were upstairs. We stayed in Coho. It was a great cozy cabin for 2. The property could sleep 8. There is a detached bunk house with 2 queens in it. The hot tub is clean and convenient. The fire pit and gas grill area is undercover. Even though we had some rain, we still cooked and ate outdoors. The location was perfect in relation to the South Mt. Rainier entrance. The kitchen was well stocked. It is evident that the owners are proud of their property and want to offer a great experience for their guests. A Great place to Relax in the Woods.

“Loved Cedar Cabin on the Creek”
Reviewed 8 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

We spent 1 nights at the Cedar Cabin on the Creek (affiliated with Three Bears Lodge) with another couple and it was just what we were looking. Very Rustic with the creek out back and the BBQ pit. We cooked out back and had the best meal of our trip. Everything was clean and it came very well equipped for a rental property. All the comforts of home. Great location nor far from Mt Rainier National Park. I would definitely recommend this place for a family or friends traveling togethetr

“Indescribably wonderful!!!”
Reviewed 2 June 2014 for a stay in May 2014

I can not find the words to describe our delite upon arriving at the cabin. Pictures do not do it justice. It is a piece of heaven in the woods complete with babbling creek. We arrived and were wowed by the big front porch. We opened the door and entered the kitchen and looked out back. We saw the hot tub, fire pit and creek. The four bedrooms are large and comfortable. The cabin was immaculate. Almost anything you might need is already there. Just bring food. A store open until 10 at night is about 7 minutes away if you need something. We were very close to the entrance of Mt Rainier We were a group of 2 couples and one single and we has more than enough room. We really enjoyed the hot tub and shooting pool in the detached garage building. Everything in the cabin is labeled as to how to operate it, including the 2 sets of double doors. Our only regret was not being able to spend more time there. We live in New York State, but if we ever go back to that area, we will be headed to the Three Bears Lodge!

“Everything you could want for a family get-together...”
Reviewed 15 January 2014 for a stay in August 2013

We are an English couple generously invited by our American friends to join them for this time away with other members of their extended US family. In all, there were close to 20 of us at times I suppose! The Lodge is amazingly equipped with great bedding of all sorts...and even a dedicated games room with a pool table, table football etc. The kitchen has every amenity you could need and plentiful cutlery, crockery etc. It is a great base for time on Mt Rainier itself and also for more general hiking in the area. Could not fault it...
