The Cornerstone Cabin
Reviewed 15 January 2012

This place thinks of everything, condiments to hot chocolate it is the little things that made our vacation perfect. The wife and I took the kids to the mountains to be away from it all and fell in love with this cabin. It is a gorgeous cabin, not huge but most cabins aren't. Plenty of room for the 8 of us! The beds and bedding were so luxurious we didn;t want to get out of bed! The kids loved sleeping upstairs and in the loft. What a great cabin experience! I would highly recommend this cabin to families and groups. How could i forget the hot tub under the huge old growth firs! My wife made me at that one in!

This was our second Christmas away and it didn't quite measure up with the last one....I called multiple times to ensure that there would be enough room for 8 adults in the cabin. was assured that there would be "plenty" of room. Upon our arrival, we discovered that wasn't exactly the case. Everything is tiny....The furniture in the front room is very uncomfortable - and and not enough seating. A futon that seats 3, two small chairs, and the kitchen table...we never did extend the table because we wouldn't be able to walk through the room. The bathroom is added on and is absolutely freezing....leave the door open and you have instant air conditioning. There were a total of 5 dinner plates. No small plates or bowl. We had to go to the store the second day (wasn't open the first) and buy paper plates. It looked like the dishes and pots and pans were randomly thrown into their cupboards - which were so high you couldn't reach them. The TV is placed so high everyone in the room gets a neck ache...
The master bedroom doesn't have a desk - as the photo shows and it gets so much road noise (especially the snow plow) it's difficult to sleep. There are a couple good things - the beds are very comfortable and the hot tub is awesome.

My family and I stayed at this cabin after looking online at several options. It turned out to be perfect. Just seconds from the entrance to Mt. Rainier. The cabin sits on the side of the mountain close to the main road but nestled in the trees. The cabin was very comfortable and we enjoyed the hot tub and fire place. We drove around the area for hiking and visited a few small restaurants nearby - then returned for the evening to sit in the hot tub and enjoy the scenery. My wife and I along with our 2 children were very comfortable but there was room for a couple more. Loved it.
