“Expensive”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

Stayed at hotel with family for two nights. Room and bathroom was clean but toilet was smelly. Good toiletries and I loved the bathrobes. Old window and very draft. Curtains din't close well around the window allowing daylight into the room. No bedroom information folder. Needed to find out about wifi code and must have tried 6 times to call reception on Saturday night before someone answered. I even left a message on the answer phone at one stage. Breakfast service lacked supervision on Sunday morning. No bowls for cereals or to carrie the fresh Grapefruit. Grapefruit was nicely prepared. Toast was thin bread that was brought right at the beginning and went that cold by the time we got the cooked breakfast. Asked twice on Sunday for more toast. Never got it. Loved the haggis for breakfast. And loved the handmade shortbread in the bedroom coffee tray

My sister, brother in law and myself called last week for lunch. The bar was busy so we decided to eat in the restaurant, which was very nice, however as we were the only people in there it lacked atmosphere.
The staff were efficient and friendly, our food came within a reasonable time, was well cooked, full of flavour and was piping hot.
I would definitely visit again, but would prefer to lunch in the bar area or at a busier time.

We spent three very enjoyable days at the Royal Hotel. The staff were absolutely delightful. A warm, stylish and comfortable environment. We loved it and Comrie to.Food and service good.
We enjoyed coffee and our books in the beautiful lounge, and there is good bar, where we enjoyed a fine malt.

Room Tip: .No 9. Lovely room seating area, dressing area and large bathroom. Top floor.

Once again my wife and myself enjoyed a mid week break in Comrie at the Royal Hotel. As expected, the staff were welcoming, helpful and very friendly. Take a bow - Theresa, Joleen, Vicki and Craig. The bar had a buzz every evening, and the food was of a very good standard with plenty of choice on the menu. Already looking forward to our next visit.

I have been to the bar a few times over the years and have enjoyed each visit. The staff are friendly, the food is good, and it's a very nice environment. Well worth a visit. Give Earthquake Ale a try!

I payed a visit to the bar at the Royal Hotel for a few drinks with friends. The atmosphere is really nice and the staff are really friendly, providing table service for drinks. I sampled their Earthquake Ale and enjoyed. Worth a visit.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 3 days in March and were struck by the atmosphere, service and quality. The staff were friendly and efficient, the food was varied and of excellent quality, the hotel was clean, warm, and cosy with log fires and comfortable armchairs to relax in. We used the hotel as a base for touring the area, walking, and playing golf. As a touring base it is good. As well as the Cairngorms for the more adventurous walkers there are a lot of local walks that are well signposted and and can work up an appetite for lunch. The local 9 hole golf course was very enjoyable and we had a great welcome from the secretary/manager. On our return to the hotel we were always met with a friendly smile from the receptionist and brought pots of coffee to the sitting room to have in front of a log fire.

We ate in the hotel every night and had one lunch. The quality of all the meals was excellent. We had friends join us one evening and the staff made sure that we maximised our allowance on our dinner, bed and breakfast deal.

The hotel is in the centre of Comrie which is a small very friendly town. There were not lot of shops but enough to get a few things if you run out.

We will definitely use this hotel again and recommend it to others.
