It's an ok place. We stayed in cabin #5. The beds are full. The tv is pretty small and it's got cable channels but no local channels or any of the big networks (abc, CBS, NBC, fox) that I knew of. The wifi in the room is low signal. The place isn't on main street and unless you want to walk a mile, it isn't within walking distance of anywhere. It's a great value and a greAt place for families as the cabin had two full beds, a small kitchen and table, and tv and bathroom. But I said "Kemps kamp Is fine but there's nothing like the holiday inn!"

We had a great time, the kids loved seeing the 1880 train multiple times daily across the street from the campground. We had a spot by the river which was by far the best spot in the campground. I don't know what any of the other review complaints were about. We had a peaceful vacation. We also had a mule deer observe us all evening one night. The bathrooms and shower houses were very clean.

I don't know what the complaints are about - my family had a great stay! We were respectful of mgmnt and they took great care of us. I will definitely be going back.

We stayed here due to the closeness to Keystone, yet we wanted to be in the pines. The man at the front desk was rude the minute we walked into the office. We were immediately insulted by his pompous attitude, but we had driven all day, and our kids were tired. After we paid the bill, he simply said "you are welcome." He was completely antagonistic and never even attempted a smile. The following day, he terrorized our son into tears by screaming at him for putting a cheap plastic chair in the pool. Rather than just tell him to remove the chair, he just opened up on our young son by yelling and threatening him. Our other children confirmed his story, and he was shaking he was so scared. When we confronted him, he was completely immature and wanted to get other campers involved. I would urge anyone considering a stay here to look elsewhere. The customer service is totally not "Black Hills." He was actually quite scary.

My Husband and I camped in the Black Hills for our honeymoon, and found Kemp's Kamp due to a recommendation by a friend.
You can pick your site based on whether or not you want to be up close to the facilities or a little bit more secluded. Firewood and ice are available to purchase. The facilities are clean and well maintained. There is even wifi available, even at the tent sites, which we used to check the weather and map out our adventures for each day. And, if you're quiet in the morning, you may just see deer and turkey around the campground.
It is a quiet, almost secluded spot that is just minutes from Keystone and Mt. Rushmore, easily accessible, and just down right beautiful.
The owner/staff was friendly and helpful, and was even full of advice on what we should see that we wouldn't have otherwise known about.
I highly recommend this place!!!
