We spent three days in a very soggy, rainy Black Hills in South Dakota. Our intention was to hike, but with the rain, we became tourists. Of course everyone has to go to Mount Rushmore near Rapid City and we did the same. We viewed the National Memorial in the foggy, rainy weather, ate a wonderful chocolate/raspberry twist cone in the concession area, and even managed to walk a paved trail right under George Washington's head while dodging the intermittent rain showers. We had great fun and hope that all will stop to see whether in rain or sun!

So glad we saw in person, it is really breathtaking. Parking is super easy! Cost is 10 dollars a car. And driving through the Black Hills Park is so pretty. Highly recommend it.

We have been here MANY times and NEVER tire of it. It's a great place to bring children so they can learn history first hand. We love going to the night programs cause EACH NIGHT they are different, they call up all service people and have them take down the flag, and then give their name and service they were in. It shows great respect for the people who have given their lives for our Country. It's the least we can do to show our gratitude for their service.
