We had a great time on the alpine slide. One downside is that you may get stuck behind someone moving slower than you would like. The kids loved it. Wasn't quite as fun as the slide in the Germany but still a good time for the area. We had lunch at the top of the hill after riding the ski lift up to the top.

Perhaps it is because I have been to the actual Alps, but I have some pretty high expectations for anything named "Alpine". This attraction wasn't bad by any means, but didn't have the view I was looking for. My son wanted to go on the slide part, but instead we opted for the chair-lift ride. It was quiet, we felt the soothing breeze and we did get to see the surrounding topography. There was a nice little restaurant on top of the mountain, but we didn't stop to eat. We took a few pictures and descended again. It was quite nice, but nothing out of this world. Perhaps if we had done the actual slide or the tree climbing activities, it would have been more worthwhile.

The alpine slide is awesome fun!! But beware of rain. Take a chairlift to the top (complete with your photo taken) and enjoy the views. There is a nice little garden trail, views of Mt Rushmore, and a little snack bar. The snack bar wasn't overpriced and serves adult beverages if you're interested. After we reached the top, it started to sprinkle rain for about 20 minutes off and on. Then we had to wait for about an hour for the tracks to dry off before they would let the sleds run. So if there is a chance for rain in the forecast, definitely plan around the clouds/showers. Of course you can ride the chairlift back down for the faint at heart, if you just want to take in the view. But all things considered, the alpine slide was the FUNNEST thing we did in South Dakota!!

The Alpine Slide in Keystone is a great family outing. Take a chair lift up to the top of the hill. Ride a nearly half mile slide back down. Great facilities at the top. A nice garden walk, view of Mt. Rushmore, a snack bar with adult beverages, very relaxing a scenic place. We went and let the kids ride and ride while the Mrs. and me sat back and enjoyed the view. Would go again is a second.

Young people manned this attraction and some of them were friendly and fun but one or two seemed a bit miserable, which affected my experience. Never zip lined before and the young man who helped us, thankfully, was one of the more pleasant. Parts of this attraction were closed due to the time of the year, which was also a bit disappointing.
