We were told by friends to be sure and take the kids to the Alpine Slides when in the area. They also had a ropes course and zip line attached but we did not participate.
For a family of 5 we bought enough for each person to take the ski lift up and ride the slides down twice...it was $80. Pretty pricey and only tourists would pay for this but when in Rome....
You get a view of Mount Rushmore on the way up the chairlift. I shared a slide with my small 7 year old daughter so we went pretty slow. My husband and boys went faster and really enjoyed it. It was nice to go twice because you get a feel for how fast or slow you need to go after the first slide.
There is a restaurant type area at the top which we did not visit but that may have made the price a bit more acceptable by spending more time there. However, I would guess food up there isn't cheap.
All in all, it was a fun memory to have with the kids. I just wish it wasn't so expensive for a slide!
