Called here for a couple of pints during Hay Festival week. Excellent locally brewed ales, very smooth and hoppy. Extremely drinkable. Good warm welcome from the landlord which makes you want to go back

We have stayed at the Harp Inn in the past and always return. We know the area well and would rather stay at the Harp than anywhere else in Glasbury. The room we stayed in was recently refurbished with a new en-suite, which was excellent. The breakfast is delicious, the hosts are welcoming, and the beer/ pub is good. Recommended.

We booked to stay at the Harp Inn for the night as our friends were getting married at the Black Mountain Lodge which is just 500 yards down the road. Booking was simple and we were offered a choice of rooms. The Harp is very easy to find (on the corner just past the petrol station in Glasbury) and has wonderful views out onto the river Wye. Through the gate in the car park you can enjoy a long walk along the banks of the river and our host recommended the best routes to us. As we arrived outside of opening hours we were concerned about access but our host was waiting for us to arrive and checked us in quickly. The rooms have all recently been refurbished to a high standard and were immaculately clean. The shower was spacious and hot and the bed was comfortable with good quality bedding. Our room had a lovely view of the river and was well heated, we had a flat screen TV with a full range of channels, a large wardrobe, tea & coffee making facilities and an en-suite (but no hair dryer so remember to take your own). There were a selection of leaflets and books available in the communal areas and Wye Valley canoeing is just around the corner.

Our host was extremely welcoming, engaging and enthusiastic, he was interested in hearing our plans and provided us with taxi numbers for the journey home (although it is only a 5 minute walk from Black Mountain Lodge there is no footpath so if you are wearing heels it is really not practical). We had a drink in the pub before leaving for the wedding and there was a lovely atmosphere in the bar. It was busy and people were ordering food. There was a sloe gin competition on which I am sorry we could not stay for as it sounded like a brilliant idea. Breakfast in the morning was lovely and they were happy to accomodate special dietry requirements or alternatives to a full English/Welsh. Our host welcomed us in the morning and made suggestions for nice drives around Hay on Wye which we attempted (although the roads are quite hairy)! All in all it was a simply lovely stay, it is a wonderful B&B and I would fully recommend it to all.

Room Tip: Ask for a river view at the rear of the Inn.

We just come back from and overnight stay in The Harp Inn and would very much recommend this lovely B&B. It is is an ideal place to stay if you are using The Black Mountain Activity Center which was situated only about a mile down the road.

On arrival we received a warm and friendly welcome. Our room (number 2) was spotlessly clean and had beautiful views over the River Wye which meanders around the back of the Inn.

The home cooked food was excellent .We enjoyed a hearty evening meal with a choice of real ales and ciders. The Breakfast of home cooked fayre from locally sourced produce was plentiful and tasty.

In short, we would recommend this B&B to anyone.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the Inn have beautiful views over the river.

Stopped here with my sister, brother and their partners on the way to Cardiff to watch Wales v Scotland. We opted for the twin room to allow my family to have the doubles. Lovely spacious room with its own little landing and bathroom. Immaculately clean and comfortable.Joined in with the "Quiz" in the bar on Thursday night and met a lot of very friendly locals after having enjoyed a lovely meal in the bar.MUST TRY THE SLOE GIN SPONGE PUDDING-its to die for!!!! Went kayaking on the river Wye up to Hay-on-Wye -Brilliant, especially as weather was so glorious.A great time had by all. Thanks to everyone we met - we will be coming again-as long as you make the sponge pudding!!!

Room Tip: Rooms to the rear have view of river. Penthouse suite has low head room owing to lovely beams.

Myself and my fiancé visit twice a year and are never disappointed. Clean, comfortable rooms, delicious home cooked food and friendly and welcoming hosts. We always eat here when we stay and can't recommend the pizzas enough. Yummy! Well worth a visit for food, or even better, food, wine/ale and a bed for the night.
