“OLDDY WORLD PIER”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

This pier is not the usual Pier. Its clean very well looked after. Great seating of all types. I sat at the end and great views not too packed a old style sea side with the beach and pier the centre of the area. I was very impressed with the homes and flats around as they looked well within the surroundings. A fab walk just across the pier Victoria Park again every thing well look after. The few shops on the pier were what you wanted an old sweet shop and teas and coffees. And free parking along the road.

“Amateur service but lovely facility!!”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

A fantastic refit to be applauded but the service in the cafe was awful. Literally had to ask behind the counter for everything - cutlery, serviettes, sauces etc. Ordered drinks then waited as they made them rather than having them bought over to the table. Then a large queue develops and so slows everything down. No system seemed evident and the make up of the staff was out of keeping with what the venue is trying to achieve. Service was so slow and after paying £40 for a breakfast for 4 you expect something a little but sharper.
I'm a local and love supporting Penarth business but really it's hard to justify it sometimes. Very disappointed after so much hard work going into re launching the venue.

“Lovely 'old' building”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

The building's been renovated/rebuilt and they have done a really good job. Still a few teething problems when we went but it was fairly new. Nice little cafe, quite small but great service...would be nice for lunch I would think.

“A most admirable venue”
Reviewed 15 July 2014

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: We attended a wonderful concert here on the weekend - a string quartet and later a quintet who play marvellously. The pier concert hall is small - which is a great advantage for anyone who wants to get close enough to musicians to take in the finer detail of their musicianship. It is a joy to be able to walk on the pier in the interval - as it proves highly refreshing after concentrated listening,
