“A perfect place for lunch near Sausalito”
Reviewed 14 October 2013

On the recommendation of a friend in Montana, we went out of our way to be sure that we found the Buckeye Roadhouse while we visited the San Francisco area during our Christmas break in 2012. We weren't able to coordinate a ferry boat connection that would allow us to enjoy a dinner there, but fortunately a lunch with my nephew and his wife was possible.
The atmosphere was friendly, and the food was first rate. The view across the highway, and out over the bay was just the right setting for a relaxing lunch. It was quiet enough to enable conversation, and the service was attentive.
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for good food, a view, and good value.

“Wonderful food and atmosphere”
Reviewed 14 October 2013

Great food and service! Add that to the atmosphere, made for a great dining experience! I had sea bass and it was delicious! The appetizers, wine and dessert were awesome. Mill Valley is a great little city across the Golden Gate Bridge. Great place to visit. Quaint shops and a lovely downtown.

“birthday celebration”
Reviewed 10 October 2013

we where their also to visit Muir Woods on our way to Sacramento to visit our son. we are from San Diego. Stayed in a hotel not far from this place and it was recommended for my husband birthday-they did tell us it was pricey before we went. But the service from the waiter and the personnel, the food and the atmosphere made for a pleasant, enjoyable way to celebrate. I say while worth the price and yes the main portions are small but if you have soup/salad, appetizer the main course is just enough and leaves room for dessert. If in that neck of the woods again would definitely go back.

“Nice restaurant on the way from Muir Woods”
Reviewed 29 September 2013

We just happened to stop here on our way back from Muir Woods to San Francisco. The food was really good, and the clam chowder was the best I have ever had! (My 86 year old grandmother agreed, and clearly she's had a lot of soup.) Everyone was satisfied with their meals and the drink options. And the smokey smell from the smoker outside was amazing. The service was nice and efficient. It was slightly pricey, but we were still satisfied.

“overpriced”
Reviewed 28 September 2013

family gathering for 10. overpriced food, nothing spectacular, Wine 2 bottles $90. Glass of champagne $12. appetizers (fried onion shreds) $10. Small portions of food. Total bill for 10 was $550. Tip was 18% required and included the wine which I think should be just on food. Way overpriced. $55 per person?!
