The friendly man behind the counter was more than willing to tell us all about the history of the Natchez. The visitors center was well documented and gave us a fine look info the rich culture of these people.

Informative displays and artifacts in the museum. This was a last minute stop on the way home. Quick walk to see the mounds. I'd like to spend more time here. Cute buffalo teeth necklaces for the grandchildren.

There is a museum with a quick film on this site, as well as three well-documented mounds; all presented in a beautiful park setting. Plan on spending about an hour to view the exhibit in the museum and take a walk around the park.

I went there on the first Sunday in September. The Village is adjacent to some residential neighborhoods, and the locals were using it as a park for recreation. There were joggers, soccer players, etc. It's a spacious place, and inside the welcome center was a gift shop and lots of information about the Native Tribes and the mounds outside.

The Grand Village is comparable to the Winterville Mounds in Greenville, which I preferred-- though it was worthwhile to see both. Much of the state, along the Mississippi River, has these mound sites. Signs can be found along the highways, directing motorists to these historic mounds. Such sites represent an underrated facet of American history, and Mississippi deserves credit for recognizing it and presenting it as well as they do.

In this museum you can learn a bit about the history and culture of the Natches Indian tribe, and their interaction with French settlers. The museum is small, but interesting, with very friendly staff. Outside you can walk around the three mounds, and read about this site and the people that lived here. However, apart from the mounds not much to see. Even the tradional house which apparently was rebuild here is torn down now.
