“A weekend at Dunleith”
Reviewed 14 April 2013

I was invited to attend a wedding at Dunleith in Natchez Mississippi. We stayed at the property and truly it was a memorable experience. They did a fantastic job and have the facilities to really have a perfect wedding. It was the same weekend as the masters tournament and you can't help but to compare the two venues. The magnificent grounds and trees are truly beautiful. The staff at the front desk greeted us like we were family with signed notes of greetings. I was so impressed with their hospitality that i took note of their name for Trip Advisor. Shawn and Judy are an asset to this property. Our room was right off the main house which was at one time the slave or caretaker quarters. The bed was very nice with 7 feather pillows. The cost was very reasonable for such accommodations. Free tours are given for guests which give the history of this site. The gentlemen that gave the tour was excellent, don't miss that perk. The restaurant and adjoining pub were great. I have no complaints at all about this historic home and its staff and facilities.

A party of four of us stayed in room #301. I cannot say enough good things about this property. Not only is it beautiful, but the staff made our stay most enjoyable. The bed and linens were the most comfortable I have ever experienced in an inn.

My wife and I visited for the first time with a party of 18. MY wife wanted me to try and get room 404 in the main house, it has the only claw footed bathtub and she wanted very much to take a bath in it...., and she did. From the moment you turn in the gate to the grounds and are greeted with all the trees, flowers, and grounds, until you leave, you will enjoy everything. Granted, the building is old and some of the carpeting is worn, but the owner is constantly updating things and has new hand-spun English carpeting being made for installation in 6 months. On check-in we were greeted by some of the friendliest staff and assisted with our luggage to our room. A hospitality room was open at 5:00 PM in one room of the main house and our group gathered all round the porch on the first floor. All of us enjoyed our 3 day stay, the food was excellent, the complimentary breakfast is great and plenty of it and the drinks are stiff, as in excellent. Terry Trovato, the Tour Director, is very knowledgable about the entire area and a wonderful man to talk with. It is old, but you can tell that all of the previous owners as well as the present owner, really love the place and I understand why. It ain't the glitzy Ritz Carlton, but it sure is nice.

Room Tip: The rooms in the main house are very large and should be reserved well in advance. The adjoining roo...

My husband and I have tried several places and the same thing happens - we love the day time sitting on the porch. Then the time comes to shower and go to bed and the creeps set in with old and dirty-feeling towels, sheets and mattresses. When we learned about the Dunleith and how everything was new and redone, we decided to give it a try. Let me just say, it did not disappoint! The day was great with the great rockers and porches, but the evening was just as great. The restaurant on property was fabulous. The food and atmosphere were so great and being able to walk over was the icing on the cake. Make sure you have a drink before dinner down in the pub. We loved that too! The bathrooms were newly redone and the towels were plush and as good as new. The bed was not only comfortable, but I felt clean - right down to the mattress zipped up in a protective bag. No bed bugs here! All of this and not to mention that the place is absolutely gorgeous. We loved all of the antiques and ald pictures of the place. The perfect mix of old and new! The tour was great too. I would MOST DEFINITELY recommend this to all!!!

Room Tip: I have not seen the other rooms, but I would highly recommend the main house. It was worth the mone...

Dunleith never ceases to amaze! The property is stunning, and the new renovations add a current feel while leaving history intact. The Dunleith team is amazing and fully dedicated to making everyone's stay a wonderful experience. The Castle rivals restaurants anywhere in the world. Everything about Dunleith is first class, and we look forward to returning over and over.

We stayed in the main house, in the bridal suite for our anniversary and it was so romantic! The room and house is just lovely, we had a gas fireplace in our room. In the evening we had wine and sat out on the huge veranda. We ate at the restaurant and the food was excellent! We can't wait to return.

Room Tip: Definately pay the extra and stay in the main house!!

We live in BR and wanted to get away, but not spend a lot of time in the car. Natchez was the perfect location and Dunleith's Cotton Warehouse B&B overlooking the MS River in the heart of downtown provided the perfect accommodations!!! We made reservations on a Sunday night at their Castle restaurant and loved the relaxed atmosphere and the million stuffed oysters were delicious. We returned the next morning for a delightful full breakfast buffet. Shout out to all our new friends at Dunleith... We look forward to our next trip!!!! P.S. Oh, ladies don't miss Katie's Ladies dress shop on Liberty Road!
