“Great location, great value, great hosts & great breakfast!”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

My sister and I spent one night here and came to Natchez to tour the homes. Ron greeted us and we felt at home right away. He and Mimi have thought of many ways to offer a very comfortable stay including providing ice and a variety of beverages, including wine at all times, a collection of menus from local restaurants and written information and recommendations regarding local attractions. The breakfast was DELICIOUS and the house has a lovely, simple elegance and is an excellent value. You will be glad you chose this B&B.

We stayed at this wonderful B & B May 9 and 10th. The home was spic and span clean. The Wensel House is beautifully restored. The location is near downtown and the bluff. We parked our car and walked to restaurants and sights in the downtown area. No road noise. We stayed in the "First " room. Ron and Mimi were full of interesting information on Natchez and the surrounding area. Would stay again.

we booked in the afternoon for the night and the owners were so kind and helpful! we had the first and the oak rooms, both with fine furniture and linens, great bathroom. everything is gorgeous and the atmosphere classy but warm. you can walk all the historic downtown from there. breakfast was a wonderful southern feast - with great conversation too! only negative point was the road is not far - natchez is quiet though.

I don't think Mimi would expect Japanese tourists every day, however she provided warmest welcome to both of us. We stayed in Wensel House on August 22nd and 23rd with two American friends. At the Natchez Visitor Center, we heard Mimi's familiar voice on the tourism promotional movie! Ms. Ellen, the last princess of Henderson of Natchez was our tour guide because I was her student 40 years ago in Natchez! Although this was my 4th visits to Natchez, it was by far the most memorable one. The bedroom was just like a dream; a real antebellum experience with Southern Hospitality in every nook and cranny. The breakfast was so gorgeous with real silver. I loved what you call, 'Grits.'; it was my new culinary experience and I liked it a lot, especially when I later read the T-shirt with wise acronym saying, 'Girls Raised In The South'. I don't know the rest of B&Bs in Natchez but when our highness ranks Wensel House the best, I have no objections. I shall return to Wensel House with bunch of Japanese middle aged tourists next time to harass Mimi. Thank you again, Mimi for everything. See you in 5 years!

Room Tip: Ask the first bedroom to your right with a bed with canopy on the second floor if it is available.

Spent a long girl's weekend at this fabulous B&B. Mimi is such a wealth of knowledge and excellent hostess. Facility is right downtown within walking distance of many attractions and restaurants. Rooms were super comfortable. We will definitely stay here again next time!

We bicycled 70 miles in hot sun to reach this inn, so you can imagine the joy of having free soft drinks and ice, air conditioning, and a safe place to store our bikes for 3 nights. Rates here are a good value too.
Mimi owns and manages the B&B and is a human encyclopedia of local information. Breakfasts are excellent and location of the inn is ideal: about 2 blocks from Bluff Park overlooking the Mississippi River, a short walk to the best restaurants. It's also quite close to the extensive Visitors' Center. The popular Fat Momma's tex-mex eatery with "Knock you naked margaritas" is just around the corner. We don't have anything critical to say about this inn, except that we had to leave it to continue our bike tour.

I stayed 2 nights at the Wensel House when I was in town for a conference at the convention center. It's located only 3 short blocks from the center and in the heart of the historic district. I loved the rooms--antique 4 poster bed and other period furniture. The owner is very friendly and quite flexible with whatever you need. There's no question this is where I'll stay next time I'm in Natchez.
