“Beautiful sunset views”

Enjoyed our stay at this very quiet, yet conveniently located locale during our visit to Natchez. Besides preparing excellent breakfasts, Neal gave us several useful pointers on restaurants, sites to see/avoid. Walkable to most everything in downtown.

We stayed here for two nights in the south room upstairs. The House is a real talking point and it made our trip to the States that little bit better. It was very comfortable with everything we needed. The highlight being breakfast where we met two very nice couples and, with our host, chatted about all our travels. Its well located to walk into town or just to take a river front stroll and is very quiet with lovely views. My only worry was that we might break one of the many well looked after pieces of crockery at breakfast! We chose this place to stay as it was pretty much the same price as the business hotel across the river and we felt it would be a far nicer experience - it most definately was, please stay here, you wont be disappointed.

We decided to visit Natchez between the holidays and were fortunate to get a room with Neal. We had a great time and found this B&B to be to our liking. Rooms were clean, spacious and quiet. Neal was a great host with a wonderful knowledge of his town.

This is a small B&B with only three rooms. The downstairs room has a private bath and views from the bed, of the bridge over the river. There are two upstairs rooms, one has a private bath within the room and the other has a private bath out the door and down the hall about three paces, however, this room also has a small kitchette with stove, firdge, microwave and a few utensils. The two upstairs rooms share a common sitting area and an open porch that has a fantastic view of the river and the gorgeous sunsets.(see pics)

We were early getting to town and stopped at the visitor center first, purchasing a three home package tour, and therby saving about 15% over singel admission prices. Neal, the innkeeper, then directed us to his favorites and explained why. We were pleased with his choices and enjoyed our stay with him. If ever in Natchez again, we will be back to stay with Neal at Blufftop..

Room Tip: all rooms have private bath, upstairs rooms have better views

My husband and I had to be in Natchez for a tournament and so chose to stay at a B&B instead of the casino hotels. What a great choice we made! Neil, the owner, made us feel so welcome. Our room was one of the two on the top floor. Usually, the room has a shared front room and porch, but no one had rented the other room so we had the whole floor to ourselves. The river view was beautiful and everything we needed was provided. Breakfast was served on the front porch each morning. Instead of ringing a abell to announce breakfast, Neil turned on the player piano! The house and gardens are kept well and my husband and I came and went as we wanted. We needed a quiet, relaxing place and this is just what we found.

The inn is an authentically restored Victorian cottage in a lovely garden setting on a bluff high above the Mississippi River. Most of the rooms in the house have a view of the river and its constant parade of barge traffic. Good linens. Small, quiet and convenient to places of interest. Neil Varnell, the innkeeper, is a genial, knowledgeable, slightly quirky but delightful host. Be prepared - the player piano awakens you at 8:30 am with its lively tunes. The breakfast was excellent and was served on fine Victorian china. There are chairs for reading - a must for many B&B aficionados.

Room Tip: The upstairs rooms have private bathrooms but not ensuite. The Master Bedroom downstairs has an ensu...

Outstanding service, very interested owner, and beautifully decorated.
Breakfast on the front porch on the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi can't be matched.
And the player piano is great to wake up to.

Room Tip: Three rooms, all great. The two upstairs give great views.

We came to Natchez to experience the river and the history. A very kind lady at the Visitor's Center recommended Bluff Top Bed and Breakfast for a B & B with a view. It is absolutely fantastic. You can sit on the porch (upstairs or downstairs) and enjoy. The property is beautiful and Neil is a wonderful host. It is in a quiet neighborhood and with only 3 guest rooms, there won't be any crowds. The rooms are charming and have all the amenities you would need. Breakfast is on the front porch with the beautiful view. We want to go back to Natchez and this is the place I want to stay.
