“Scary and dirty”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 April 2012

The only good thing about the hotel was the front desk attendant. She was very nice and apologetic about the whole situation. I have stayed at others Days Inn and this by far is the worst. Toilet wasn't working, bathroom light was flickering and the hallways smell like urine. For $80 a night!!!! Don't walk away......run!

We stayed here for two nights on our road trip up from New Orleans. It is far out from the main town but the room was clean and comfortable - much the same as all the other motel rooms we stayed in. Free wifi in the room is great and we could park for free straight outside our room. We didn't try the free breakfast but it was on offer. Easy enough to drive from here to the town - a shame that the swimming pool wasn't open until mid April as it was warm enough for a dip though!

We decided at the last minute to spend the night in Natchez Mississippi and popped into the Days Inn to find a room for the night. We got a good deal on a room in their deluxe wing for a few bucks more. The room was really nice and had a canopy style bed and a small dressing room right outside the bathroom. The room was very nice and had a full size closet with a refrigerator, microwave, and ironing board. The internet was free, fast and easy to use. The hotel has a free dinner that we didn't try because it was after 8pm when we arrived. The next morning we the free breakfast that the hotel provides and it was better than expected including Starbucks coffee. The only problem that we had was that one lamp had a burnt out lightbulb. Other than that, we had a good experience.

Room Tip: Try the deluxe building

We stopped at Days Inn in Natchez at 9 pm on 3-26-12. The outside looked okay, but the lobby was old and drab looking. When we got to our room, I immediately noticed the vent on the air conditioner broken and falling down (tape was not holding it), and no pillows on one side of the king bed. I looked and to my disgust, saw short black hairs at the sheet and pillow case!!! My husband pulled back the sheet on the other side of the bed and a small spider crawled across the sheet. The room also did not smell good. We immediately went to the lobby and I told the woman that I could not stay there. She only said okay, not that she was sorry - she did not ask what the problem was, but I was sure to tell her - again, she did not acknowledge any surprise, she just gave our money back. I cannot see how anyone could rate this hotel with more than a "1", but perhaps without the dirty sheets, some would rate it a "2". WE WILL NEVER AGAIN STAY IN A DAYS INN!!!

Room Tip: Don't stay in a Days Inn.

This place is hard to find, even with a GPS! It's old and needs upgrading, looking somewhat shabby. Room was decent enough, however. The woman on duty was not pleasant, seemed annoyed at any question and was curt. She seemed like an angry person -- or was just having a bad day. We tried to be pleasant. She recommended the Shoney's as a nearby place to eat, and that was a terrible experience! Not the Day's Inn person's fault, we realize.

We wanted to see some attractions in Nachez on our way home from New Orleans so we booked this hotel. The staff was great. The hotel included a breakfast and we were surpised to find it also had a dinner of chicken and noodles. All in all it was a very nice stay and we would certainly stay there again. The only negative thing I could say is that the furniture in the room was too large. The room was of average size and the oversized dresser made the walk way narrow. Enjoyed our overnight stay.

This was a one-night stopover and, based on other Tripadvisor reviews, there didn't seem to be a lot of good choices in Natchez, and many of the hotels seemed really pricey compared to my last couple of stops (in Lubbock and College Station, Texas). For a Days Inn, which is usually more "downscale" than the places I stay, this wasn't too bad. It had a microwave and fridge, always a plus, although the refrigerator had not been cleaned after the last guest (or two?). The mat under the shampoo and soap on the bathroom counter had not been moved in a while and had a dirt ring around it, and there was a stain on the blanket, which I found when I took the bedspread off. Still, the carpet seemed new, and the furnishings were okay.

The desk called shortly after I got into the room to see if everything was okay, a nice touch (I hadn't found the cleanliness issues yet). The rooms have huge windows opening onto a walkway, so there is virtually no privacy unless you keep your curtains closed at all times. Thankfully, there are plenty of lamps to light up what would otherwise be a cave-like space. The parking lot is a little noisy, but the price is right and it's only for one night.

Would I stay here again? Maybe, but I think I might take my chances on another hotel if I find myself in Natchez in the future.
