We stumbled upon this place by accident on our way back from Newfoundland. We had couple of hours before the ferry was leaving, and after visiting Castle hill we drove through town to get a quick lunch. We were ever glad we came in.

The cafe has a wonderful warm and cozy atmosphere, friendly service and delicious food! We each had a sandwich and pot of hot tea.

Well worth it even if for a quick stop on the way to or from the ferry.

My sister and I spent two days in Placentia, Sept. 2013. Stayed in the Little Cottage next door to Philip's Cafe. Best food ever, wonderful atmosphere, great couple. Highly recommended.

Had a great, healthy breakfast - finally a meal that was "heart smart". So good to have a breakfast that wasn't some sort of fried meat, eggs, hash browns and toast. Had fruit, granola and yogurt. Great hosts. Recommend Philip's Café to anyone and would definitely return.
