“An Oasis near a really big oasis”
Reviewed 7 July 2013

The Ticaboo lodge is locally run and has very friendly staff. The rooms are clean and tidy, reasonably sized and well appointed. Our fridge was poked and the 'guy' at the counter was onto it straight away and sorted it out with a new fridge.
Also gotta put in a good word for the Lokals Restaurant next door. Run by a very enthusiatic dude and he has the staff and food well sorted - low key but excels where it counts.
Overall a great base camp/rendezvous spot prior to an awesome holiday on Lake Powell.

Room Tip: Be nice to the receptionist ... ?

I have stayed there twice and have another reservation for October. It is very remote but so peaceful. Lokals is a great addition located next door and serves beer Yum.....

The staff is great and very accommodating with all your needs.

If you want to see the stars like you have never seen before don't miss this spot. Only minutes from lake powell and they rent boats and razors.

Room Tip: book the deluxe rooms they have been renovated.

We have stayed at Ticaboo many times and are always treated well by Kim and the staff. The rooms are large enough to accommodate a family of four. Nice to have the restaurant open again. We will stay there again. Mike G.

Just got home from our trip to Lake Powell, this hotel offered no customer service, the gal at the check in was rude on many occasions including at our check in,, our bed finally got made on the second day of our stay, ( I might add, it looked like it was done by a 3 year old ) We requested fresh towels on our second day.. we never got them,, no in room coffee, no soap in the soap dispenser, you have to pay for ice out of the ice machine, ( the ice machine on the second floor didn't work ), rude staff, uncomfortable bed and pillows, there was no bible in the room, no information book for the area, no phone book, power was off for a couple of hours, although we paid for it, I will say the room was clean, but, for the cost of this hotel it was definitely not worth it. Will go to Bullfrog or Page from now on.

The Ticaboo resort is pretty much all you can expect for a place with no competition for miles around, and they know it...the best way to describe it is that “It is what it is”.

If you are looking for a place without the convenience of elevators, in room coffee pots, free ice, and 1980's décor, then this may be just the place for you. I know for sure that it's not the place for us. I only estimate it to be that modern because there were no 8-track players in evidence, however they do have clock radio/alarm clock/CD players you can't even find in yard sales anymore. There was near total apathy to guest needs on the part of the staff and management. There is a magnificent view of the parking lot in the front of the Resort, and a view of the desert in the back.

Be warned here that The Ticaboo Resort is located on the other side of Lake Powell than where your GPS will guide you. The staff knows about this, but only tells you this as you are calling from the other side of the lake, still 2 hours away by car, or 1.5 miles away be ferry. They admit that “All the guests complain about that”, yet none of the staff will tell you about it until you are there. Apparently advising guests of this at reservation time, or any subsequent conversations is beyond their job description.

The ferry has been broken down for weeks, and there is no mention of when it will be repaired. One can only hope that it broke down on one side of the lake, or the other, or it would still be out there.

The ice machine has been broken for a week or so, as the staff knows, but there is no “Out of Service” sign on it. If you complain, they will sell you ice. They will still not make any attempt to put a sign on the machine, or get it repaired. The ice is not free at the machine either.

The Wi-Fi signal is weak in the farther rooms, and when asked about it, the staff insists that they do not have a problem with the Wi-Fi, you do...end of conversation. They do have gas pumps in the complex, which are fifty cents higher than the ones in town, sixty miles away.

Like I said...It is what it is. On the bright side, the room was clean, with good towels.

We stayed 6/7-6/10. Reserved 2 rooms. 1 king and 1 w/queens for the 4 of us. The rooms were large and best of all CLEAN. Kim the General Manager was exceptional and enjoyed dealing/conversing with the whole family. We actually felt like we were family during our stay.
Kudos to Kim! She really hooked us up. No matter what we decided to do on a whim she was able to make it happen.
It's awesome that all of the toys are on site and at our disposal:)
During our stay we heard rumors that she may be resigning. We really hope that this is only a rumor as we feel she is the glue that hold its all together. I am not sure we would return without her being there.
We were also happily surprised at how good the new restaurant Lokals was. Cody and his staff were very welcoming. After eating at Bullfrog Anasazi's and being very disappointed, we eat at Lokals every night. If you get a chance to go there you will not be disappointed!

our family went on Vacation to Lake Powell, stayed at the Ticaboo Resort/ Lodge June 7,8 and 9th
upon our arrival we were met by the Lodge General Manager Kim Bean, she has never
met a stranger!, welcomed our Family with open arms, we occupied two rooms, which were
ready upon our arrival, the rooms are spacious and Clean! the air conditioning works keeping
the room very cool considering that it was 109 degrees outside! they have ATV rentals which
we rented for a very reasonable price, the restaurant was open for business! Cody is the
manager of the restaurant, again another employee that welcomed us with open arms
food was the bomb! fresh salads, home made salsa, chicken wraps etc etc very reasonable
prices, the pool was clean and refreshing, only bad experience was a young man in training
from Provo Utah, never offered his name (not a people person!!) what is the owner thinking??
rumor has it that he will be taking over for Kim, if that happens STAY AWAY!! employees
that I encountered are scared to death of him taking over the operations, I agree, we will
be coming back several times annually now that we have found our home away from home, unless
this young man takes over the operations, this resort is a little out of the way, but way worth it!!

Room Tip: Rooms on the first floor were our preference
