“Breakfast had nothing out of the extraordinary”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 August 2014

Went there to have breakfast and the menu had nothing special. It was really cheap though. My girlfriend got her plate 5 mins before me!? I got the carrot cake to go and it was really good. Just one high-chair for the entire restaurant and no booster for my daughter! Not a place I would go back.... maybe just for the carrot cake to go.

“Don't go here unless you have LOTS of time to waste.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 July 2014

We were in Glace Bay to see the Men of the Deep which started at 8pm. We asked around and Colette's was recommended as a great place to eat. We had about an hour and 45 minutes before the show, which we thought would be more than enough time to grab something to eat. We were seated right away when we walked in the restaurant. We ordered almost right away and things were looking good. However, an hour and a half after sitting there and not getting our appetizers yet we were ready to walk out. When we asked the waitress about our Nachos she said they were just coming out of the microwave, which was of concern to us. We let her know at this point we were on a tight time limit to which she said "we're very busy and short staffed and I thought you wanted your nachos first". We got our food in time to scarf back half of it as fast as we could and run out the door. From what we tasted the food was delicious, but the overall unfriendliness of the staff, and the tardiness of our order made it an overall terrible experience. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you have an afternoon to kill and nowhere else to be.

“Great food!”

We had the corned beef and cabbage and the special of the day which was the bbq sausages. Both were excellent! My husband also had the butterscotch pie, we left with happy bellies!

“You definitely gotta eat here!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 July 2014

If you are in Glace Bay or Sydney, or anywhere in Nova Scotia, you must come here! They have delicious food! We drove from Halifax to try the food here. Totally worth the drive! We ordered the Festive Poutine. It had dressing, huge chunks of turkey, fries, cheese and gravy. It was huge. I was very full after eating it. My husband ordered the Breakfast Hash. It had huge chunks of potatoes, peppers, ham, and onion with cheese on top and two eggs. It was very good too! For dessert we shared the carrot cake. It is incredible! I really wanted to get a piece to go, but we were so full we decided not to. If we are ever in Nova Scotia again, we will definitely be coming back here!

“Great food, great service”

The chowder was so good, we went back the next day for more. Simple decor but good, friendly service and excellent food.
