Despite patchy reports we scored a large and comfortable room that was reasonably well insulated from the pub below and the traffic out front. The décor is a little dated but not so much that it’s offensive. The staff were friendly and efficient and the whole place felt like a family run operation. Although the bathroom could do with a renovation everything was there and worked as expected and, in contrast to many older hotels, the water pressure would have shamed a fire hose. A limited but wholesome and tasty breakfast was offered from early until 11:00AM and the hotel is well located just out of the town centre. It will be our default choice in Liverpool.

We arrived, and we informed that the king suite we had booked was already taken, and that they had tried to call us for a few days to switch our room. I checked my cell phone (which I carry with me 24/7) not a single missed call or message. We took the queen bedroom anyway as it was less in price and we figured it would be equally satisfactory.

The room was clean but TINY. There are sprinkler pipes hanging down from the ceiling. The bathroom left alot to be desired besides being redone recently (again tiny).

The rooms are NOT sound proof. We can hear the neighbours on all 2 sides, as well as on top of us. All through the night people coming home, and starting at 6:30 people leaving. The showers went on and on and on.

The beds are very soft/sinky. Some people may like this. We do not.

When we arrived the room we were given had a river view, which was nice, but there was a large event going on on the lawn outside including a live band. The band basically made the walls vibrate until 8pm.

The restaurant is super expensive, I encourage people to look at other options, however the breakfast is included with room. Yum!

Room Tip: the higher the floor, I assume you will hear less noise. The most noise was from the neighbours abo...

We were guests at a wedding held on the banks of the beautiful Mersey River this summer and it couldn't have been more perfect. The rolling lawns and huge shady trees made a romantic background for the ceremony and the meal was delicious. The food was served quickly by a friendly and knowledgeable staff. I highly recommend Lane's for a unique setting for a wedding or any kind of celebration.

A day trip to Liverpool from the Annapolis Valley ended with a very scrumptous
supper on the quaint stoned patio, in a park like setting with lovely views of the river.
The staff friendly and our dining experience was top shelf!! can't wait to return, very impressed.

We stayed at Lane's while on a cycling trip late July and had a 2nd floor room with a view of the parking lot and partial river. While the room was dated, we found it quite charming. It was clean and more than adequate for our needs with a lovely little sitting area.

The staff was absolutely wonderful. When we arrived early from cycling some 40 odd kms much to our pleasure our room was ready and our baggage had been carried upstairs for us. They helped us secure our bikes in a safe area overnight and showed us the different areas of the inn.

Dinner was included in our cycling package and the dinner was absolutely wonderful. We had a choice of tables and we chose the library which to us was a nice cozy area. Breakfast the next morning was wonderful. But the best part was sitting in the adirondack chairs overlooking the river enjoying a glass of wine. Pure pleasure.

I would stay there again in an instant.

We stayed at Lane's on July 21, 2013 - we were on the 2nd floor with a nice view of the Mersey river. The room is a little old - stained carpets but pretty clean otherwise. The outside stairs really need some work though.

The staff are super helpful and friendly - they work really hard to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable.

The breakfast - included in your room rate - is absolutely scrumptious and delicious. In the past we've also eaten supper at Lane's and it was very good.

I would recommend it as a place to stay, but be warned that some rooms are a little run down.

Room Tip: I'm not really sure - I think the rooms in the main building may be better but I've only eve...
