The staff was very friendly as were the other campers we met. Our site was treed but not overly private. We tend to camp and provincial parks and prefer the privacy there. Beach was beautiful though rocky.

Room Tip: There are sites that back onto a field; personally, I wouldn't want to stay in them-no privacy a...

Had a great family vacation. The owners arranged to have my tent trailer set up on the site beside the rental trailer, which my family were renting. We were also close to the pool. Only downfall is the beach which is very rocky, but the Lake Huron Sunset is still 2nd to none. The Park, showers, pool all well maintained. We were only 10 minutes out of Goderich. Visited the Museum, Gaul (Jail), Downtown has been restored after the Tornado.

We are seasonal campers on our second season. We are a married cpl in our mid thirties with 2 kids 1. 3yrs old and 1. 9 months old on site 128.

Grounds: Well kept with a lot of VERY large trees. The lots offer shady areas and areas of full sun. The majority of the campground is trailer/tenting lots. No walking paths or trails.

Beach: The hill down to the beach is EXTREMELY steep be ready for a workout. If you have any mobility issues you shouldn't attempt the walk. But this beach access is common for this area of Lake Huron. The beach itself is "natural" or un-groomed. A lot of rocks and stones along the shore. In the water you'll need water shoes. The bottom is covered in slippery rocks and it's very hard to walk without them.

Washrooms: The washrooms are average, this is a trailer park. They are clean and always are stocked when I have used them. The showers have plenty of hot water.

Pool: The pool was re-done over the fall/winter/spring. Built-in steps were added and a new liner. A wall was removed to allow a more open concept. A fenced in patio was also added. The pool is usually VERY cold. It is solar heated and usually doesn't reach 85'C or up until August. There is a heater but i've heard its seldom used.

Store: There is an onsite store. It has all the forgotten grocery items you may need as well as candy, ice cream, Slushies, ice and firewood ($7 or $8/bag). The onsite propane refill centre has recently been closed so you'll have to get the propane before you arrive.

Entertainment: There is an arcade/games room with retro arcade games and a pool table. There is currently a broken window in this building but I would imagine it will be repaired asap. There is a horse shoe pit and shuffle board area but other then that not much else to do besides lounge with a cold beverage.

Long Weekends: There usually is a band, silent auction, games and fireworks. It is usually a good time. There is also a breakfast in the rec-hall the price is right and the food is good to bad it's only on long weekends.

The Lots: The lots are generally grassy with a gravel driveway. Most people have beautified their own lots with additional grass seed or sow, flowers and tacky garden stuff. There is a bit of a power issue on busy weekends which is the biggest complaint from the other seasonal. The process has begun to upgrade the power lines. New hydro poles were installed in the off season and we are just waiting for the "Big Dig" (this september) to attach all our power posts to the grid.

Price: The price is right at around $2,000 a season all in! There aren't many parks left that have this price and are all inclusive.

Attractions: There are a lot of attractions around to keep you busy. Goderich Beach, town square and other local beaches.

The People: This is the best part about this campground. The other seasonals make this campground what it is. Pot luck dinners and get togethers around the fire make our camping experience exactly what we were looking for. Everyone works together and is willing to lend a helping hand.

The View: There are benches at the end of every street that look out over the lake. The sunsets are unbelievable.

All in all this is an average campground. If you're looking for a keg party this isn't it, if you're expecting Sherkston Shores it's not here. This is a smaller, quiet family campground that gives you a great camping experience with exceptional people. No attitudes here!!

I would recommend this campground to my family and friends and will sign on for our 3rd season this fall.

I love the homey feel of this resort. The owners always make us feel welcome every time we go.
We have camped on a tent site with electricity and it was a good sized site with tree coverage. We have also stayed in one of the trailers they rent and I must say it was very nice and comfy!!
I love the covered pool, can't get the kids out of it. The kids love the playground area and of course the arcade. The hike down to the beach is steep but well worth it for the peacefulness and it is great exercise.

My wife, 3 kids and myself spent labor day long weekend at Lake Huron Resort. We had a great time! The girls in the store were so nice and helpful especially with the amount of people that were checking in at the same time. They also provided a bbq which was great because we did not have to worry about feeding the girls while setting up our trailer! Now the trailer. Funny thing we discovered I have no backing up skills whats so ever (after trying 8 times) the gentleman that owns the park noticed my frustration and volunteered his time and set us up at no extra cost! The park and play ground was a hit and the beach was all natural and beautiful, our girls loved playing on the rocks! The kids made tons of new friends and enjoyed the crafts. The pool is out dated and needs work but after speaking to the owner he informed us that they were replacing the pool for the following summer. They had a amazing band, raffle prizes (which we won a dvd player!!) and my family and I danced the night away. All and all we had a great time and are considering becoming permanent campers!

We had a very hard time finding the resort. Mapquest and GPS took us south of Goderich instead of north. We eventually had to call to get directions (expensive when you are hauling a trailer). The pool needs some serious repairs and some of the campers where extremely loud until the wee hours of the morning. Some of the sites are very hard to get into and are very small. However, the resort did have a band play on the Saturday night which was very pleasant.
