This was one of the most amazing places visited in Cuba. Take a picnic, towels and swimwear and simply spend the day in the cool crystal clear waters.

We spent a few hours here on a busy Sunday morning. The drive through the mountains and countryside is fantastic (specially the back road we took to Trinidad after - some crazy hairpins and incredibly steep sections).

The waterfalls are very beautiful and the pools very refreshing to swim in - I think some of the locals thought they were cold but being from Ireland they've not got a look-in when compared to the Irish sea or Atlantic).

I'd struggle to tell just how beautiful the place looks. If you're in Cuba make sure you go see for yourself!

Do not miss when in Cienfuegos or Trinidad! Drive to El Nicho is amazing, passing through Cuban villages and through amazing forests. Views from several spots are breath-taking. The park offers great walk through the forest and few great spots to swim. In hot days, refreshing swim is great treat to your body and soul. Waterfall itself I expected to be much larger. Still its size does not diminish its beauty.
The best way to go is to get a taxi to drive you there. I saw some agencies were offering tours, which seemed a bit expensive. We drove from Cienfuegos to Trinidad, with a stop at El Nicho for 90 CUC (4 people) and we realised that you can get it for 70 CUC as well.
