Mayi and Pedro are excellent hosts. My son got sick with high fever and body ache, we did not have any medication at hand nor even a thermometer. Mayi provided everything, she ran for Advil and a thermometer.
We only stayed one night, however the place was enjoyable, comfortable, rooms had everything we needed.
The house and garden are beautiful places to enjoy, not to speak about the solarium on the roof from where one can enjoy a spectacular view of the bay.
We needed to leave the following date at 5am and both, Mayi and Pedro woke up and delighted us with a wonderful Cuban coffee.
What else can you ask for, right?
We highly recommend this place with fully assurance that you will want to visit again.
Excellent spot and wonderful people!

Room Tip: Look for the ones on the 2nd floor, they have wonderful view to the garden and patio, plus you can e...

Me and my husband have stayed in several places in Cuba and this one, believe me, was the best one. Mayi is very sweet and makes the best mojito in Cuba. Her husband is also very kind and helpful. Their breakfast was soooo rich and delicious and the rooms very big, comfortable, clean and with view to the sea. I wish we had stayed longer

Staying at casa pedro y mayi means staying in the Punta Gorda area of Cienfuegos. It's (for some) too far to walk to and from the city centre, but a "bicytaxi" (rickshaw) will take you for 1-3 CUC. Throughout our stay in Cuba we have not met friendlier, more enthusiastic hosts than Pedro and Mayi. Especially Mayi is extremely friendly and enthusiastic. We stayed during the Brazil World Cup Football, and she was very enthusiastic about the results and games played.

Pedro and Mayi are very friendly and extremely pleasant to socialise with. You can talk to them, and ask them for advice on anything. They are able to advice you on transportation issues and took us to the bus station.

The casa is fine. The room is clean, has air conditioning and a mini-fridge. It isn't spectacular, but great for your average needs. Price-quality is fine. We had the downstairs room, and were satisfied, but some advice on the upstairs room being spectacular. Also, there patio where breakfast and dinner are served is pleasant (do bring bug repellant). The fish (caught fresh by the neighbourgh) for dinner is highly recommended.

We thought this Casa was great. We arrived by car and parked safely by the house.

We were offered a welcome mojito in their beautiful tropical garden. We had pre-ordered dinner by phone the night before. Mayi cooked the most delicious fish for my wife and myself and lovely chicken for the children. She is an excellent cook.

Breakfast was also delicious.

The two upstairs rooms were comfortable, very clean and well air-conditioned.

The centre of Cienfuegos is just a short drive away and we had no problem parking on the central square. The second night we ate at La Tranvia which also had tasty food and we were serenaded by two excellent singers/guitarists.

We spent most of a day at El Nicho countryside park (9 CUC charge per person) where we swam under magnificent waterfalls. Well worth a visit. Pedro drew us a map of how to drive there. The drive itself is really interesting. The road is steep and has potholes on some stretches, but it winds through beautiful villages and scenery.

This is a great place to stay in Cienfuegos with very friendly hosts, especially if you are driving.

I enjoy staying at that house and did not have to think of going anywhere for fresh fruits and sea food ,all I wanted was just there. The owners of the house give you the most out of them and make your trip unforgettable .I enjoy having my own and private room.
The area is very quite and from there you can walk anywhere you want in town.
It is the right spot and nothing is hiden under the table......

Room Tip: Upper rooms have better view to the ocean.

I have booked 2 rooms at Casa Pedro y Mayi. 2 double, 1 for 2 people and 1 for single occupation.
My boyfriend and I had the best room in the house, but my sister was given a room next door, that had a door into another room, where 3 guys were staying. Bad shower and very noise from the family living in the house. The landlady frequently shouted at night with her kids. Just a very unpleasant place. When booking, I trusted we stay in the same house and have the same quality room. There was 5 CUC price difference but i assumed that it is due to double and single occupation.. My sister was very unhappy about given less value service and accommodation as she was on her own!

We have asked if she could have the room in Mayis house but on the first night it was occupied, however it was not on the other two. Very poor customer service we thought! Otherwise she was helpful and received nice breakfast.

Room Tip: upstairs above Mayis house. there are only 2 rooms, do not take anything else!!!

Casa Pedro y Mayi is located just on the outskirts of Cienfuegos city in the area of Punta Gorda - a once affluent area of pre-revolutionary Cuba. The casa is ideally located within Punta Gorda as it boosts beautiful views of the bay, and is within walking distance to the old Yacht Club and other colonial relics of the area. The city centre is easily reached by either a short rickshaw ride (1.5km) (which can be easily flagged for the sidewalk) alternatively you can take a leisurely stroll down the Malecon (highly recommended at sunset). The Casa itself was beautiful, with its own private access as well as fantastic private terrace that looks over Pedro and Mayi's garden and the bay. The food is also brilliant; Pedro russelled us up some fantastic fish with a generous serving of creme caramel to follow. Mayi and Pedro speak only a small amount of English so it would be better if guests had some sort of handle on spanish, but despite the language barrier Mayi was still able to help organise us a trip to Playa Ancon (highly recommend).

I would recommend this Casa to anyone staying in Cienfuegos, as it offers the best of both worlds with its location in Punta Gorda (most of the best restaurants and bars are in this area).
