“Wonderful resort experience”
Reviewed 26 June 2012

Second visit to Wailea, but first visit to the Grand Wailea resort itself. This is a BIG property with a very large staff. Laundry Staff, housekeepers, valet, bell staff, front desk, concierge.............you get the picture. Myself and my family travel 30-40 days a year and have NEVER experienced a large resort with the entire staff this well trained in a high level of customer service. Every single staff member that we experienced had a smile and an "aloha" for us.

The bed was one of the most comfortable I have slept on for years. One thing, the ocean view rooms are an absolute must. There is nothing better than sleeping to the sounds of the ocean and waking up to the beauty of the immaculately kept grounds.

Pool area was unbelievable, beach was amazing, all amenities were delivered in the time expected with smiles and "what else can I do for you" attitude.

I can't imagine going back to Maui without staying at the Grand Wailea Resort. The property exceeded all expectations.

Thanks to the team! See you soon!

Room Tip: Make certain that you choose an ocean front/view room. You will not be disappointed.

Budget travelers should read no further, but for those who don't mind spending easily $1,000 a day for a room and meals for a family (we are five people) won't be disappointed. Pool action - lazy river, rope swing, multiple slides - is great. Incredible beach. Must-do value parking at $35/day is annoying but I learned to accept it. I would certainly come back here without hesitation.

We stayed 9 days in an ocean view room and everything was wonderful. My only con is the hotel had a 600 person meeting and seemed to cater to them at the expense of the other guest. We were in the right side of the hotel by the chapel and they set up activities on the chapel lawn almost every day of our 9 days and were tearing down at 1am one night.

Food in Maui is very expensive. Also we rented cars for the entire stay and had to pay $30 a day to park. I would suggest getting some kind of transportation instead. If you want to drive somewhere you can rent a car on site for the day.

We've stayed here twice now with the family. The pool, water slides, lazy river, and rope swing are fabulous entertainment for the kids! The beach is really nice too. We really enjoyed our stay. However, it is an expensive place to stay. Food, drinks, etc are all expensive. The rates for the shaded loungers are a rip off, and the rate for a covered cabana by the pool is ridiculous.

We booked a room block for our friends and family for our Memorial Day wedding. Our wedding wasn't at the Grand Wailea, but many of our friends and family chose to stay there. With a group discount, the prices were very reasonable and a great deal compared to the Fairmont or the Four Seasons. We had Run of House rooms but almost everyone was upgraded to a Deluxe Ocean View. When people came to visit our room, they ooh'd and aah'd over our sunset view. We spent many days sipping wine and eating cheese on our balcony watching the sun go down. The Napua Tower rooms, with free breakfast and manager's reception, was also a great value when booked in a group discount.

The property is beautifully maintained. The pools and water slides were so much fun - for the children and for the adults. We also spent some time hanging out on the beach since the Grand Wailea staff will set up umbrellas and chairs for you.

I even enjoyed the valet parking. At first, I thought it was going to be a hassle and inconvenient to wait for someone to go get my car, but if you call down from your room, the car will be there when you get down to the lobby. And the parking attendants leave mini-bottles of water in your car each time. So thoughtful!

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Maui and I would love to stay there again!

Room Tip: Some rooms can be very far from the elevator, so I'd ask for a room near the Napua Towers or nea...

We celebrated a college graduation and high school graduation with our children and all had a great time. There was something for everyone! We had beautiful ocean view rooms in the Napua Tower (concierge level - very worth it for the breakfast and cocktail hour!) and our accommodations and the service were both fantastic. The spa was the best, pools and beach were great and we had delicious dinners at the hotel restaurants. The Humuhumu restaurant was one of our favorite nights. Their newest restaurant, Amasia, is very different and oh-so-delicious and a fun experience too. The entire property was just beautiful and the staff was very friendly and helpful. It truly made our vacation a once-in-a-lifetime memory! We can't wait to go back to make new memories!

Room Tip: I loved our ocean view room in the Napua Tower. The staff was fantastic and the amenities are worth...
