“Overall a good experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 December 2013

For my first trip to Maui a friend and I stayed at this resort. The property is absolutely beautiful and the room was very spacious. There are plenty of bars and one of them is a swim up bar. The pools are great one being the adult pool. The Bistro Molokini ended up being my go to spot on the resort for food. If you purchase a souvenir cup you get almost double the drink than you do if you order a regular drink for the same price so if u don't mind drinking out of a plastic pineapple or tiki guy this is definitely the way to go. If you are there without kids the adult pool is great and is warmer than the other pools and there was seating available anytime I wanted. You have to go stand in line to get an arm band for the pool and it usually died down around 2pm. Beach chairs require your name to be put on a waiting list and if you are not there around 730 in the am prepare to wait. I was alone most of the time so I was able to be squeezed in with almost no problem but I heard larger groups were having a hard time and heard a lot of frustrated people. I can understand why when the rate of this place is so high. The gift shops were reasonably priced and there were people near the pools selling custom jewelry and doing tattoos and one stand had wraps for the beach. Restaurants were good and a bit pricey as should be expected at a resort. The breakfast buffet was wonderful and had everything you could want. The staff in the dining area was wonderful. Now for the Valet. From my experience the morning crew were rude and unprofessional. I actually dreaded having to face them as one of the crew was so nasty to us. One time the bell desk brought the wrong clubs and had them loaded into the car. Luckily I checked them as the bell captian rolled his eyes and went to get the right clubs. Took about 30 minutes to get the car and clubs straightened out and we just made it for our tee time. The spa was nice and you can visit the sauna and all the salt baths with any service like a massage or facial or around $50 for 2 hours access without a service. I loved that part of the stay! Room service was great and the room was wonderful. The concierge did a great job of planning out our excursions for the day and I loved their recommendations. We the majority of our stay with Hilton Honors points and we had some really great coupons for food drinks and 20% off at the spa. It is a great place for adults and for people traveling with kids as the pools were always full of kids of all ages who looked like they were having a blast on the many slides and lazy river. I would go back if I wanted to splurge.

Room Tip: We had the deluxe garden room 7012 and the bathroom was huge. There were two shower heads on two sid...

We've lived in South Maui for 10 years and have had countless family and friends visit us since. Although we have room at our house for guests, we insist that they spend at least a few days at The Grand Wailea. Yes, the grounds, rooms, and pools are second-to-none, but it's the employees that make a visit to this magnificent resort special. Our most recent visit was with family -- including my mother-in-law who has terminal cancer. The care, concern, and hospitality the entire staff gave her was absolutely heart warming. Thank you so much once again.

Room Tip: We've stayed in several rooms, and never had a complaint about any of them.

The hotel is is very ornate with exquisite decor - in excellent taste!
Spectacular view from room - front and center located on top floor with panoramic ocean view!
Property location right on a great family friendly beach with snorkeling.
The pool is amazing complete with nine slides, swinging rope, volleyball net, sandy beach pool, swim up pool bar, jacuzzies galore, lagoon to float around the entire acres of pool, and an ELEVATOR!!! FUN FOR EVERY AGE!!!
The grounds are immaculate and beautifully cared for.
The Spa Grande is AMAZING!!! The baths representing the different islands with their special island blends was wonderful.
Staff friendly and professional.
A bit pricey for the daily parking rate, but no other option if you have a car.
Would stay again next time in Maui!!!

Room Tip: Top Floors Front and Center Ocean View

This hotel is fantastic, especially if you have kids. Many different areas for pools, slides, play areas, etc. Even though there were tons of kids there, our room was quiet. We had a garden view room in building 4, but from our lanai, we had an amazing view of the ocean. The hotel is valet parking only. Restaurant food is great, beach is awesome!

the staff is kind and friendly, the rooms are beautiful and super clean, they have free bicycles, lots of classes to participate in, the grounds are gorgeous, the restaurants were really yummy, this hotel was a dream vacation in every way.

Room Tip: You may want to stop at Costco, it is very expensive to eat and drink 3 meals a day here otherwise e...

A wonderful relaxing island experience with all the frills. Down side, Did not provide self park option. nickled and dimed with a $30 valet service per day. Should provide self park option, free valet, or simply build parking fee into room rate not as an add on. left bad taste of experience at the end. Not clearly specified. Dave's dive shop very helpful and great people. Except when it came to providing further Junior diving classifications/certification. Spent over $1000 in dive experience for son then they would not sign off on dive adventures even though diver log was presented on the first day for their review and to update. They get a little overwhelmed by numbers of divers and forget to further the young divers qualifications. Dive masters should respect the ocean life more. " it appears to be an attempt to gain higher tips by poking and handling marine life a bit much for comfort . "Observe not disturb" is what i teach

The grounds are very lush, stunning and very well kept. The beach is great and the chairs and umbrellas are complimentary. The staff is very friendly and polite. The guest rooms are dated, but would have been fab in their day. We at at bbbb, the service was great but the food was terrible, I do not recommend.
Very family friendly, with kiddie pools and slides for children.
Overall our stay was pleasant, but I most likely would not go back, as I enjoy more modern amenities, and less kids. (which is easy to find at the rates you will pay)
