“Excellent food and friendly, efficient service”
Reviewed 26 November 2013

We ate here on our first night staying at the Fairmont. We booked only a few hours in advance and managed to get a table without any problem, even though the restaurant was quite full on arrival. Although a bit slow to start, the staff were friendly and efficient. The appetisers were excellent, very tasty and the portion sizes were large. We both ordered fish for the main course. It was very fresh and both were full of flavour. We didn't save enough room for dessert, but the menu was quite appealing.

There was live music when we were eating and it was surprisingly good, not overwhelming and it worked well with the ambience of the restaurant. Although a bit on the pricey side, we felt for the overall experience, it was worth it.

Thank you for your terrific review of Kō. We’re thrilled that you had a wonderful dining experience (hopefully next time you’ll save room for dessert!). Please be assured that your kind comments will be passed on to Chef Tylun Pang, the service staff and the musicians. Best wishes and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon!

“Very disappointed”
Reviewed 23 November 2013

Was very much looking forward to dining experience based on reviews on Trip Advisor. Sat on patio furniture on side of restaurant. This is an open air restaurant. Usually good but unfortunate in this case since there was a big party in the courtyard and you could hear everything, from bad music to speeches. We decided to stay because of good recommendation. Food itself did not disappoint. Service was sub par however. Way sub par. Prices entirely unjustified. Make sure you confirm whether there is a party planed that evening if you decide to go. And then reduce your expectation. Thus is not fine dining

Aloha and thank you for your honest review. We’re truly sorry that your recent dining experience failed to meet your expectations. While we are happy you enjoyed Kō’s plantation-era inspired cuisine, we apologize for the event during your dinner. This is not a common occurrence and we're sorry your meal was impacted. We strive to provide 5-star service and apologize if you received anything less. We truly hope you will give us another opportunity to make a more memorable impression in the future. Best wishes and mahalo

“Last night this trip”
Reviewed 23 November 2013

Had a great meal last night. My wife and I shared the whole flash fried fish. It was delicious. We really enjoy KO but we don't go nearly as much now as they have changed the kama'aina. Still very good.

“Fresh Plantation Inspired Cuisine”
Reviewed 19 November 2013

We try to eat fresh and light so Ko's menu was perfect on our first night at the Fairmont. We spent a fraction of the cost of a regular meal by sharing the seared ahi salad and a macro meal - and we were perfectly satisfied. The macro meal was three courses full of high-quality greens, veggies and rice. We liked it so much we had it again at the pool the next day. Ko is a beautiful restaurant and, for us, the best in Wailea. The only reason it didn't get a 5 rating was that it was very difficult to get the bartender's attention throughout our meal and they completely forgot the dessert course until we were about to leave.

Aloha! We’re very proud that you consider Kō restaurant to be the best in Wailea. While we’re thrilled you enjoyed our popular Lifestyle Cuisine Plus menu, we couldn’t be more disappointed that the level of service from the bar was lacking. Your feedback is very important and will help support our continuous training efforts. We hope to see you again soon. Mahalo.
