Ko is a wonderful, casual restaurant located directly behind the adult pool at the Fairmont Kea Lani. The food is good and the service is also. I probably would not go to this restaurant if I weren't staying at the Fairmont, only because Maui has SO MANY excellent restaurants. However, if you've just flown in and want a easy, good place to eat . . . this is your place!

If you are looking for a 5 star restaurant to try in Maui, here is your spot! The prices are high as expected, but well worth the meal. Usually at fancy places like this, you leave starving, but these portions are more than generous. The spring rolls and sushi were my personal favorites, but whatever you order here, it will NOT leave you disappointed. The service was impeccable (as it always is at any Fairmont Hotel) and friendly. If you get seated at a good table, you have a view of the beach and can watch the sunset. Don't forget to save room for the rum cake or pineapple cake!

As local residents, we usually steer clear of hotel restaurants as they are generally overpriced and offer standard (boring) menus. In the case of Ko, we've been missing out! Wish we discovered this Kama'aina-friendly restaurant earlier. In addition to the Kama'aina specials, we found the staff to be full of Aloha. Nick at the bar was wonderful during happy hour. Caipiroska cocktail was so good, I had to have two! We enjoyed the lumpia and the oishi sushi before moving into the restaurant for dinner service. Kama'aina sit on the high-tops to take advantage of the discount, which was fine. Dress casually as it is an open air restaurant and it gets very warm. The only thing we didn't enjoy about dinner was the fact that the sun was beating down on us. Though we will definitely be back, our next reservation will be just after sunset so we can be more comfortable. Recommend you dine when it is cooler. The bread service is fabulously creative. Lamb chop (as mentioned by others) was outstanding. Servings, including the pork chop entree, were extremely generous. Had the Ohana dessert so we could sample more than one. Favorite was the chocolate baked custard. We appreciated our server Corinne who was very efficient and the very warm and friendly bushelp Randy. Manager Tom also checked in on our table which was nice. It is definitely not an inexpensive meal, but one that is definitely worth it. Mahalo Ko for taking care of the Kama'aina.

Ko at Fairmont Kia Lani is nice enough. Excellent service as on would expect at this price point. Food was very good. Setting- if you like to feel like you're in a 5 star resort then I guess it's your thing. Being Australian foodies and spoilt for choice with Asian cuisine this restaurant is definitely over priced for what it offers. Cost over $250 for 4 people (2 glasses of wine). It's good Asian food but I don't need to pay these prices for steamed fish. The restaurant seems to be taking advantage if it's captured resort market. We didn't go back.

Aloha and thank you for your honest review. While it's wonderful that you enjoyed the plantation-era inspired cuisine and the high level of service, it’s upsetting to learn that the overall value left you unimpressed. Please accept our sincere apology and consider returning in the future so we can provide an outstanding dining experience. Mahalo and best wishes.
