“Great food”

A pleasant surprise with great food, atmosphere and service. The basil chicken wing starter was slightly under cooked but well seasoned. Save room for the homemade banana cream pie. We are still craving it but it will never be duplicated somewhere else.

If there was only a Monkeypod Restaurant on the mainland! This place is amazing. The restaurant itself is beautiful and open with scenic views when seated outside. The food is fresh and different and creative. During my first visit, I had the kale salad with grilled chicken added a la carte. All fresh ingredients with fruit and nuts; it came with a miso-like dressing but I substituted that for their mango dressing. It was just so light and fresh and healthy – I found myself craving it the next day so we returned for a second go-round. The truffle fries are Killer!! – so worth the splurge, for sure. During my third visit I had the pizza of the day: roasted brussel sprout, bacon, red pepper and pecorino cheese with a light white sauce; it was topped with a slice of lemon. This was the most amazing flavor combination in a pizza. Surprising enough, a splash of lemon brought all of the flavors together on a thin crust. Friendly service, delicious food and a beautiful space all rolled into one.

“Good fresh simple food”
Reviewed 4 May 2014

Just good honest food: not too fancy, but some quirks. Main selling point was freshness of ingredients and reasonable prices. Was busy, but not too bad waiting at the bar. Only downside was the service: it was prompt, but the server was definitely on autopilot.

“Enjoyed our lunch”
Reviewed 3 May 2014 via mobile

Loved this place last year so came back again and wasn't disappointed. We started with drinks - I had the - probably one of the best I have ever had. We started out meal by splitting a bowl of the vegan Portuguese soup - well spiced with veggies cooked perfect - and I love that they split it for us. My entree was the fish and chips- the fish was cooked perfectly although the fries were dark in color they were not crisp.

My husband had the ahi tan sandwich highly recommended by our waiter. When we asked about the aioli since my hubby has an egg allergy, the chef recommended substituting with a horseradish crema. It lived up to the hype!

We splurged and had excellent coffee and the highly recommended strawberry cream pie- no eggs. It was awesome!!! Tasted like a creamier version of a cheesecake. Yum!

We will be back next time!

An ideal place to have lunch with a family. Very good quick service and everybody enjoyed the food. Prices were not over the top and the menu choices were more than satisfactory.
