“Amazing brand new property!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 September 2013

We stayed in Andaz Maui for our honeymoon and checked in on the first day the hotel opened. The property is absolutely beautiful with very modern design, lots of open spaces and natural light. There is no front desk per se but as you enter the hotel one of the hosts checks you in on the ipad. Upon check in we were given a full tour of the property, room features, and the spa. We had a partial ocean view room in Makapi wing with a king bed. The room features automatic lights and curtain controls at the bedside, complimentary beverage and snack bar, lanai, and a huge shower with doors that open to the bedroom. Since it was our honeymoon, the in-room dining service provided us with a complimentary bottle of champagne and sweets in the room, which was a very nice gesture.

Andaz has several dining options, including a downstairs restaurants which features a breakfast buffet and a la carte dinner options; 24 food market that features salads, paninis and a delicious gelato bar; and poolside bar that serves drinks and appetizers. The breakfast buffet is quite pricey ~$50 pp, but has a great variety of fresh fruits, berries, cereals, and hot foods. The way the restaurant is set up, the whole experience is very interactive with all the foods prepared in front of you. Marimoto Japanese cuisine restaurant is also on the property and is scheduled to open mid-Fall.

Hotel also has a fully equipped gym, laundry facilities, full-service spa that includes massages, facials, haircuts, and allows to create your own scrubs; and four cascade style infinity pools, hot tub, and an adult only pool. The hotel is located right on the beach and provides for complimentary outrigger canoe tours - we did one and saw a bunch of sea turtles! - and other water activities, such as paddle boat and canoe rentals. The only parking option is a valet at $30 a day, which is convenient though a bit slow so request a car in advance. The grounds are still a bit bare considering the hotel just opened and newly planted flowers and trees did not have time to fully grow but still look beautiful.

There is a photographer on site in the hotel that offers complimentary photo sessions on the property and the beach and then allows you to purchase one of their packages if you'd like. We did a photo session and even though the photographer himself was not the best with some photos not being sharp or overexposed, we still got a number of great pictures and a beautiful video as a honeymoon souvenir.

We had a wonderful stay at Andaz Maui and would definitely be back in the future. It is a beautiful hotel but its true asset are all the people who work there. The whole time the service was impeccable and everyone was extremely friendly, helpful, and genuinely excited about this new property.

Room Tip: Ocean view rooms are great

The property is beautiful. The rooms are true Andaz class and if that wasn't enough. The staff is the jewel of this amazing property. I have stayed in over 30 hyatt properties and love the brand. This staff is way beyond great, everyone we have encountered seems happy to be here and blessed to work for is property. Not the fake kind-yes sir no sir, the genuine kind of aloha that flows from the spiritual gift of hospitality. Great job the the HR department in finding the true gems of the Andaz Maui.. Make it a priority to come and enjoy this experience.

It just opened yesterday and the grounds are not quite done yet, but this place is absolutely amazing!

Staff is unbelievably friendly, the pools are out of this world, and the views are to die for.

We are a young couple in our early 30's and have never been to a hotel that fits our style more than the Hyatt Andaz Maui.

If you have the opportunity to visit this hotel, just do it! You will not regret it...

I recently had an opportunity to be a guest at the 'as-yet-to-be-opened' Andaz Maui at Wailea hotel. The hotel is beautifully appointed with elegant beachy-sheek décor. The view is breath-taking. Oh Maui travelers - you are in for a treat.

My favorite experience at the hotel is their Mokapu Market. If the aroma of fresh baked pastries and coffee doesn't pull you in, the genuineness of the staff will. I read the menu as I waited my turn and was pleasantly surprised by the vegetarian choices prominently displayed as a permanent part of the menu, not merely an afterthought.
The snack choices really took into consideration the new way of thinking about our food. Gluten-free, non-GMO, all natural, chips and popcorn and nuts - at last I have smart choices.
The Market itself is so appealing and inviting. Very cool artwork - someone has excellent taste.
I saved the best til last: the coffee - superb - a coffee lover's heaven. Rich, robust, yet smooth without a hint of bitterness. I'm telling you - these people KNOW what they are doing and they are doing it with panache.
As soon as the hotel is open, run, don't walk to the Market and have a cup of coffee and maybe some gelato (don't even get me going on the gelato). I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
