Just came back from a week at the Fairmont Kea Lani. Was one of my best vacations ever. The resort is great; everything is well done, every detail is well-designed, the service was consistently good, the food was very good, the pool experience was relaxing and comfortable, the room was spacious and clean (especially the bathroom), the grounds are well-maintained, the location is great and within walking distance of the mall and a short drive to some great secluded beaches, etc.

To pick on a few minor flaws: the bed was extremely uncomfortable, and my wife and I had major back pain in the morning. I had to sleep on the couch after the first night. The concierge recommended some restaurants that were just OK, not great. The parking spaces are extremely tight and difficult to get in & out.

Overall, the resort is excellent and we will bring the kids next time.

Room Tip: we asked for an ocean facing room and we were lucky to get one. Some reasons at the back side of the resort face the green mountain, which I personally prefer because it's beautiful and interesting and not as montotenous as the ocean. Apparently some rooms face the parking lot (which is also on the back side) so you want to be on a higher floor on that side.

Aloha DonaldTrumpLA. We are truly pleased that one of your "best vacations ever" was spent with us! It’s wonderful that you enjoyed the high level of service from our staff, the spaciousness of your suite and the many dining options at our hotel. However, we are sorry to learn that some aspects of the resort were disappointing. Please be assured your comments and feedback are valuable to us and will be shared with our team to help support our continuous improvements. We look forward to welcoming you and your entire family back next time. Aloha and best wishes.

Fantastic resort! Very comfortable beds, beautiful facilities, great beach, can't say enough good things. Very nice adult pool area. Restaurant service is great and the tuna sushi rolls are to die for. Try the tapas in the lobby bar for a great variety.

I echo all the positives stated about The Fairmont Kea Lani by all the other reviewers. We just finished up 5 nights there with our two teenagers. We loved out first floor suite that opened out to family pool area but out towards the ocean end of the wing so we had a nice ocean view from our lanai.

Once you've decided to stay in Wailea how do you decide which of the wonderful resorts to book? We like the Kea Lani because it feels more spacious and Hawaiian than the other resorts. Specifically, The Grand Wailea just feels too big and too much like Disneyland for us. The Four Seasons, while lovely, feels crowded with the way the buildings are laid out and has a more generic resort feel to it .... We did not feel like we were in Hawaii as we walked through the hotel and grounds. We enjoyed being able to walk to the other resorts for meals but will continue to stay at the Fairmont Kea Lani. All three resorts are wonderful but I hope this helps first time visitors to make a decision about where to stay!

Went here on spring break with my son (7yo). Wonderful property, Wailea coast, beautiful beach and amazing pool. 140ft water slide was the highlight for my son. Also enjoyed Ko restaurant. The staff was lovely, especially Sarah, our server at Ko - she was absolutely great. Room was a suite and had everything we could need - microwave, fridge, and great, large lanai. Would absolutely go here again!

We’re also thrilled that your dining experience at Kō was memorable. Sarah is a tremendous asset to our team and we’ll be sure to pass along your kind words. We look forward to welcoming you back very soon! Warmest aloha.

My wife and I stayed at this resort for 6 nights during our trip to Hawaii for our 10th wedding anniversary. Thanks to our travel agent, the hotel was notified and pulled out all of the stops to help us celebrate, including leaving us a welcome basket with treats and providing us a voucher for a free picnic basket from the cafe. This was all on top of what was already a magnificent stay!
The room was huge, with one of the largest standard rooms we have ever had the pleasure of staying in. The restaurants were top-notch, especially Nick's Fish Market and the Polo Beach Bar (which we enjoyed for lunch on several locations. The location is in the middle of Wailea, which put us on a beautiful beach, yet pretty central to everything. As for the beach, it provided some of the best sunsets we saw on the trip and for excellent snorkeling/diving. The prices are a bit high, but if you come prepared (bring a case of water with you and perhaps some bottles of wine from off-property to keep your beverage costs down), you will find the experience magical!

Room Tip: A first floor room near the lobby's north side was extremely convenient, near the upper pool and swim up bar, and provided picturesque views of the sunsets
