Since the first time i came here ive been back at least once a month since.The scallops cannot be topped .The french onion soups great .i dont think you can find a better steak without paying outrageous steakhouse prices.I think this place should be number one in new bedford because i never recieved anything from this place that was less than great.Great service ,food ,drinks and reasonably priced.If youve never been here i highly recomend.

“Customer Service is a AAAA++++”
Reviewed 28 April 2014

My family members traveled from Texas to celebrate my mom's 70th birthday with other family that lives in and around New Bedford. My mom always raved about Freestones and so we made a reservation for 12 of us on Good Friday. When we arrived, they had no record of our reservation. IT was Friday night on Easter weekend at 7:30pm...the place was packed. The manager made quick decisions and said he would make something work. Not only did he figure out a way to get all of us in and seated within 15 min, he bought us three appetizers and a Texas sized carrot cake for her birthday. The food was great and the service was awesome, but the manager made our night. He kept searching and searching his reservation book and finally found that someone wrote it down on the day we called vs. the day we were in town. I can't thank him and his staff enough for making my mom's birthday dinner a 5 star event. The lobster roll is what she came for and if you come to Freestone's, you MUST have it!

“A Nice Lunch”
Reviewed 23 April 2014

The food was tasty and the service was friendly, but there was nothing particularly exceptional about it. Seemed like a good standard lunch place.

“Reliable through the years - must visit”
Reviewed 15 April 2014 via mobile

I was a resident of NB in childhood and through 1983. I remember when Freestones was new and through my sporadic visits back to the area, this has been a welcomed constant. Nice to see the brass monkey, which is familiar and brings a warm feeling. Food is great and acceptable. Staff friendly and welcoming. Pub feeling, local, comfortable, lovely and a must-visit for newcomers and return visitors. Please visit and don't ever do away with this place. It is a touchstone and well worth that distinction.
