Ok there is no denying that this brownie was sent down from heaven, it is the best brownie I have ever had! I went back and had it again! And the chocolate lava pudding is also just incredible! But sadly the savoury stuff really wasn't great, I had a very expensive stuffed chicken in chocolate sauce main and really the only good bit was the sweet potato it came with! So definitely come here - but just for dessert!

Just popped in to try the much hyped chocolate brownie and boy was it worth it! I've tried many brownies and can safely say this is the best I've ever had! Gooey, little bit of crunch. I'll be going back tomorrow. If you like chocolate/brownies you MUST try this.

El Quetzal is an interesting place. Aside from the "Chocolate Tour" El Quetzal becomes another attraction as a restaurant and gift shop. The food is fresh and using interesting local ingredients with a flare. The food may or may not be cooked to perfection (chicken with chocolate sauce was incredibly dry) but it's still interesting nonetheless.

It's also a great place to hang out to drink a hot chocolate or ginger beer while enjoying the scenery.

Be sure to check out the products they sell including raw cacao nibs and artisan chocolate bars.

We found the hotel on airbnb.com, the price was right and like what we saw. Mindo is a cute town in the middle of the jungle with many things to do. We decided the Chocolate tour would be fun since it's my favorite. We enjoyed Saudia the guide, she made the tour interesting and fun. The samples are incredible and so is the GINGER BEER.

The dinner was based upon the Chocolate theme and quite enjoyable. We were there on a Saturday night and the drum party was an experience not to be missed. The hotel is just up from the river so the frogs and river noises were better than any sleep machine you could buy.

The breakfast included in the price of the hotel was very good. I would recommend this to any and all in the Mindo area.

We went there in the evening for a little dessert and a beer... the brownie with vanilla icecream was one of the best, i ever had (even though the chocolate vulcano sounded awesome, too), the artesanal ginger beer was horrible... unfortunatelly, the atmosphere in the evening isn't too cosy, a lot of light in there! Cocktail happy hour till 7!
