“Great place to visit ! ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2014 via mobile

This was an incredible experience. We caught a taxi from the town for $3 then gave the taxi driver a time to come back as pick us up.

When we arrived the lovely girl greeted us at the door and went through a 5-6 minute explanation of how butterflies lay their eggs, how they turn into caterpillars and evolve again into butterflies. It was really interesting she showed us the different types of caterpillars, eggs and then took us into the butterfly aviary. In the aviary you can see the caterpillars in their cocoons. You can also see butterflies hatching out of their cocoons which was absolutely fascinating! There are literally hinders of butterflies in this beautiful aviary complete with flowers, flowing fountains with Lots of spots to sit and watch the butterflies fly. You can even feed them bananas!

We were told to go around 10-11am when the butterflies are most active! Make sure you wear light or bright colours because the butterflies are attracted to them. Afterwards there are loads of butterfly inspired souvenirs to purchase and a small cafe. Entry was $6.00 for adults. Well worth the visit.

“Nice walk from town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2014

Well run. Cheap. Fun, informative. Beautiful location. It is a short hike from town and a little used road in the rain forest. My ten agers even liked it.
There wasn't anything I disliked.

“If you like butterflies...”

What a magic and peaceful place to while away a couple of hours. It was alive with butterflies. Go early in the day so you can watch the cocoons open. Pure magic!

Kids of all ages loved it. A very high density of butterflies. Couple dozen species. . . . . . . . .

“Oh wow! Just wow!”

This butterfly house is exceptional. Beautifully designed it's a beautiful garden anyway and then it's also chock full of beautiful butterflies of every colour! Stunning! I was mesmerised for 2 hours and didn't get bored at all! The best part is they have a section where the butterflies are hatching out of their cocoons- I saw 4 different butterflies break out of their cocoons and unfurl their huge wings- nature is amazing! IKEA should take a lesson from these guys on efficient use of minimal space! These butterflies are massive and they unfurl from such tiny cocoons, impressive!
