We have just returned from a short stay at "The Vue". We chose Cedars Mount View after all the positive reviews on trip advisor, and we weren't disappointed.

When I first entered The Vue, I was suprised at how immaculately clean it was! It was spotless and has obviously been very well maintained. It is obvious that management care about the experience of each and every one of their guests. There is a large plasma TV, full sized quality kitchen, 2 person sunken spa bath, king size bed, leather lounge, quality carpet and the shower has 2 large windows overlooking the surrounding bush (with mirror tint!). Such a great experience. I really can't convey just how immaculately clean the place was. It was so luxurious, everything about the vue is quality from the polished stainless fixtures and fittings to the furniture.

I am usually cautious using spa baths and every other hotel I have been to, "floaties" have come out of the jets upon first operation. But thankfully no floaties came out of the jets at the vue. Watching foxtel from the spa was great.

The breakfast provisions are the most generous out of anywhere we have stayed, there was more than enough for our 2 day stay and a great variety of food too. The fridge is full size and we were so glad to see a dishwasher (dish drawer), because after all, who wants to wash dishes whilst on holidays?

The candles provided a lovely ambience and the bed was just bliss to sleep in. Being king size, there are no problems if your partner is a bed hogger, haha. Sipping champagne on the deck laying in the sunchairs was so relaxing and hearing the birds chirping in the trees was a nice change from traffic noise.

We didn't see a single person the whole time we were there which was great as we wanted privacy. Check in is self check in so all you have to do is open the door and go straight in and leave the door locked upon checkout.

The only complaint we had, if you could call it that, was that a few of the pots weren't clean and the flies outside were a bit of a nuisance - not Cedar's fault though. But these are very minor issues compared to the rest of our experience.

All in all, if you are looking for a luxurious, tranquil, private getaway with your partner, Cedars Mount View will exceed your expectations. We will definately be back!

we stayed in the terrace and everything was perfect! for me it is the small things which make this place excellent instead of very good. the eggs are organic, the TP is soft not crunchy, they provide your preferred style of milk and bread, the self check-in and check-out. everything is spotlessly clean and neat. Ipod connectivity to the sound system so you can play your music through the surround sound, foxtel TV and because there is no mobile reception in the area there is a phone to use outside the caretakers office.
the location is perfect
the furnishings are perfect
the breakfast options for our 2 night stay were enough to feed us for a week!
there is a full kitchen.
love the fact that the deck has 2 deck chairs plus a table and chairs and then there is 2 deck chairs with fold up umbrella out in the grass, so many options for places to sit, relax and watch the beautiful serenity of the setting.
we booked the romance arrival package and i was astonished at how generous the antipasto platter was, i have never seen one this big! plus there was champagne and chocolates by the spa and rose petals around the spa and bed. i would definitely recommend this package as worth it, because we arrived late at night we actually ate the antipasto platter as lunch the next day and it was enough to fill us both up.
we will definitely be back for a longer stay in the future. i have never experienced such peacefulness as i did lounging in my deck chair on the veranda and relaxing.
the photos on the website really do not do it justice, it looked even better when we were there.

Room Tip: the vue and the terrace are the most secluded cabins if it is ultimate privacy you are after

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Vue for 3 nights in July and it was amazing. Everything from the view, the gas fireplace, the spa and waking up to Aussie wildlife - it was all perfect. We barely saw a soul while we were there which was ideal for us seeing as we were looking for a comfortable escape from busy Sydney life. The self check-in and check-out is a fantastic system. The breakfast they provided was great as well - fresh tomatoes and eggs, bacon, fresh milk, juice, tea and a variety of cereal and oats. Pretty much anything that people generally have for breakfast, they had. They also had a great Weber BBQ in the courtyard which we used quite a bit. Only downside is that it is a half hour drive to Pokolbin so if this is the first time you've been to the Hunter, it's probably not the best location for you. Seeing as we were there in the middle of winter, we were a bit discouraged from going out for dinner after returning to the cottage in the afternoon. But that's largely because it was a such a fantastic place to stay and it was hard to get out of the spa!

For people who need to be connected to the outside world, there is no reception or 3G in the area whatsoever which I suppose can be an issue for some. Also, right next to the Vue is a farm full of cows (which I personally absolutely love) but if you're light sleeper, they do moo quite a bit early in the morning.

Anyhow, LOVED this place, would definitely go back.

From the moment we walked in the door to the music playing and fire place burning we knew we had picked the right place to celebrate our 7 year anniversary. We felt like we were a million miles from anything.

We have been searching for years to find a place just like this - From the double spa that looked over the mountains (and had a great view of the TV and fire!) to the deck complete with a BBQ and reclining chairs - it was perfect.

Not to mention the lovely bottle of wine, chocolates and scrumptious food that was provided for breakfast (that also did us for lunch). We even got a farewell from a group of kangaroos to top off the trip.

Relaxing and romantic - Cedars is definitely a hidden gem that we cant wait to return to.

Room Tip: People may want to know there is no mobile reception (makes it even better to relax) and only Foxtel...

Dear sdsn
Thank you so much for taking the time to let Tripadvisor visitors know about your experience at The Vue. Your kind comments are much appreciated and valued by us.

I did note you mentioned there was no free to air TV. We have always had free to air TV which is accessed by the BOSE remote. If the instructions weren't clear enough, please accept my apologies. You need to change the input (AV channel) to choose whether you want TV, FOXTEL, DVD or IPOD.
Kind regards
Jenny

Spent 3 nights here with my fiance and never wanted to leave.

Everything about Cedars was perfection, we stayed in The Terrace.

Bree was incredibly helpful, and booked us in for all the trappings we wanted with no hesitation.

We've found perfection and it's at Cedars Mount View.

My partner and I stayed at The Creek cottage at Cedars last month on our first trip away. It was without doubt the most beautiful accommodation I have stayed in. On arrival we cracked open the complimentry bottle of champagne and took in the view from our secluded deck. The HUGE television was a great as well as the luxurious king bed and spa. We will be going back, but may try one of the other villas next time - I'm sure they're all great!

Stayed for 2 nights in the "Ridge" . We wanted a quiet weekend away in what we hoped was decent accommodation.
What we encountered far exceeded our expectations.
The room was first class with excellent privacy from the other cabins.
The service and willingness to help from the on site management was very much appreciated.
The location is close enough to the main wineries, restaurants etc whilst still providing the sense of isolation we wanted.
Be aware there is no mobile coverage on the property however we found this a godsend.
If we could give 10 stars to Cedars Mount View we would.
Just book. You wont regret it.
