“3rd stay at Cedars and more to come”
Reviewed 25 October 2013 via mobile

Hubby surprised me with a couple of nights at The Edge. We have stayed at The Edge and The Vue before. We had a relaxed and peaceful time and plan to return at least annually.

When we got there, John rode down on a quad bike to let us know the villa wouldn't be long (cleaner was finishing up). It was very hot and windy and we thought this was really thoughtful of him.

The Edge is impressive. It is modern, well designed and has everything you would want with a lot of great features that often get overlooked in holiday accomodation. My husband loves the 65" TV. There is a TV opposite the spa and the bed, all with foxtel. The lower level has surround sound. The villa also has heated bathroom tiles, rainwater shower head, big sunken spa, minibar fridge accessible from the spa, free wireless, gas log fireplace, fuctional kitchen, aircon etc. The villa was also very clean and overlooks a creek and across to a grassy paddock. Lots of trees, cows across the road and birds add to the peace and serenity. There was a great orange sunset our second night which we enjoyed with a BBQ.

Breakfast provisions are fantastic! Included are 12 rashers of bacon, 12 eggs, bakery bread, 4 x muesli, pancake mix, 2 x baked beans, marmalade, strawberry jam, tomato sauce, honey, garlic sauce, 1.5L orange juice, 1L milk, plenty of butter. There's probably more I've forgot.

If you're looking for a peaceful, private and relaxing weekend with your partner, we highly recommend the edge and the vue or cedars in general. The accomodation is high quality and the service is fantastic.

My husband did write a review about the edge from our june stay but we didnt realise tripadvisor delayed it significantly for some reason and reading back on it after we got the management reply notification, we decided to remove it due to a few nitpicky things that weren't really fair to mention and they were non issues this stay. Management were fantastic when we contacted them at the time which is why we came back. We have always been completely satisfied with the service and this is something that sets Cedars apart. Looking forward to coming back for stay number 4.

We arrived at Cedars from Sydney, so we were ready to enjoy the serenity of the Hunter Valley countryside.
I had emailed with Bree several times prior to our trip and she had always been extremely helpful, recommending tours and places to eat. The website is also very concise.
We were booked into Gums as it is the only lodge which offers a second bedroom we were travelling on our first trip to Oz from the UK with our daughter.

Upon reaching the grounds we knew we had chosen a slice of heaven, beautiful countryside, views to die for! The Gums was beautiful, spacious, excellent décor, home from home! Everything in the kitchen you could need, a fantastically well stocked larder and fridge to set us up for breakfasts. We had also arranged to have the BBQ pack for our second night, it was wonderful, with steaks, sausages and salads. Bree & John certainly know how to look after their guests. There is an amazing attention to detail in everything about staying at Cedars.

We woke up to see Kangaroo's in front of the lodge and plenty of birdlife around. The grounds are vast with plenty of areas to walk and still not bump into any other guests, the only activity is from the various animals & birds which roam freely in an idyllic setting.

We arranged to do the Two Fat Blokes Wine Tour and we also dinned at Muse Restaurant - both are fantastic (please see trip advisor report for them)

The only downside - we didn't stay long enough!! To Bree & John Thank you for the Wonderful time we spent at Cedars

It was our 2nd stay at The Terrace and we will be back for a 3rd visit. The attention to detail of the villa and all the extras Bree organises makes the whole experience a relaxing one and one everyone will want to return to. The breakfasts and little extras supplied are plenty for a hearty breakfast each morning. Eating breakfast on the verandah being surrounded by kangaroos and the odd sound of cows mooing is the type of experience you wish for when staying in The Hunter Valley. Would highly recommend a stay to anyone.

I took my hubby here as a surprise for his 30th birthday, as I wanted to stay somewhere close to the hunter valley that was private, had a luxurious feel, and had a spa bath and fire. A random list of requirements, but surprisingly hard to find! This property ticked all the boxes!

We had a fantastic and very relaxing experience. We particularly loved the spa bath that was set up in front of one of 3 TV's, as well as in front of a gorgeous view over the property.

We found Bree (the concierge) to be most helpful and quick to respond to all enquiries and to meet all of our needs. We couldn't get the DVD player to work so she sent out a staff member to our villa within the hour, who ducked in and fixed it. We also had a problem with a booking for a helicopter ride (a separate company to Cedars) and Bree fixed it as soon as we called her.

We stayed in The Edge Villa which is the newest of all of them. It was beautifully designed, with no detail left to chance. There were even heated tiles on the floor and lights to illuminate the wooden stairs within the house. We also were surprised to wake up to a warm villa, and realised that the gas fire was set on a timer to 5:30am to ward off the early morning chill.

We were also pleased with the food included in the breakfast pack. There was more than enough for two people, and we loved the extra surprise inclusions such as fresh orange juice and various types of muesli. We also appreciated nice touches such as fresh flowers and a cute complimentary birthday cake for my hubby.

I would definitely recommend this property to people who are looking for a private, luxury getaway, especially as a couple. It is a special place to stay and we hope to return again soon (especially with the 10% discount for return guests!).

Maybe one and probably the only place that my wife and I have ever stayed where guest privacy is taken to utmost importance. The accommodations are well separated from each other which gives you total privacy which I think Bree and John takes pride on. The villa we stayed in (The Gum) is appointed with quality fittings and furnishings. We love the serenity of the environment where you can absolutely do nothing but relax. You get to see the odd kangaroo hopping about in the property early in the morning and in the evening. There are plenty of spots by the creek in the property where you can go for a short walk or to take a book and read. I highly recommend going to the old Orchard to do this. Bree and John can even organise for you a BBQ pack for you which is great value for money. Both John, Bree and Jenny are friendly and are happy to look after you. We just wished we had stayed a little longer and I thank you for the hospitality you have provided us.
