Fantastic little cabin surrounded by bushland.......stayed two nights during July and had a very relaxing stay. The wood fire kept us cosy after a few frosty runs to and from the spa. Lying in the spa watching the stars with a glass of wine was about as relaxing as it gets! The location seems remote, but is only a really short drive to local wineries and hunter valley attractions.
Thanks to John for a great get away.

Will and Sara.

I just wanted to say how much we enjoyed our week's stay in the cottage. It's a very peaceful and lovely part of the world. We would certainly be more than happy to recommend Cottages On Mount View to our friends. Customer service was excellent and there was good attention to small details, such as a lovely welcoming gift hamper. The private spa was wonderful! If you are looking for a peaceful and romantic place to get away from it all, this is the place for you.

This beautiful cottage is the perfect escape to the country. When we first arrived I was concerned about the fire providing adequate heating but my fears were soon put to rest once we got the fire going. The outdoor jacuzzi was sensational, as was lying in the hammock listening to the birds. John was efficient with the booking, attentive and patient with our requests, provided information about bushwalks and things to do and has a calm and warm energy. Loved arriving to a breakfast hamper with eggs (only 4 though so take more if need), bacon, tomatoes, mushrooms, fresh bread, jam (a small one, so again take more if you need), butter, sparkling wine and lindt chocolates.

If you are a foodie and are planning some big cook ups, it will be useful to take your own knives and chopping board.

For a romantic weekend away, it couldn't have been better.

Living as an expat in Beijing, when I returned to Sydney for a holiday (I lived in Sydney for 7 years previously), I wanted to stay somewhere secluded and romantic. I could see the reviews were good and the photos looked ideal. I could tell from when I called John (the co owner) that this was the right place to go to. He was so friendly on the phone and was very sensitive to my desire to be away from other people (living in a city of 20 million plus people does that you to). He booked us into the most remote cabin of the four and was incredibly welcoming on arrival having gone out of our way to make us feel comfortable. The cabin is lovely - open fires, wooden floors, outdoor high quality spa etc. We just completely unwound in their lovely property and watched Wallabies running around in the forest and ravine. If you want to escape Sydney for the weekend and stay in a friendly, high quality and remote cabin this place is just ideal. We will certainly be going back there anytime I go back to Sydney.

Room Tip: Ask John for the remote cabin you have the countryside to yourself!

Amazing retreat. We had just got married and had endured through months of stressing, organising and entertaining family etc, so at the end of it all decided to unwind and take 3 nights at Cottages on Mount View before returning back to real life and work.
It was just what we needed! As we arrived, we dropped the bags and got into our swimmers straight away...there was a bottle of chilled sparkling wine waiting for us (along with a beautiful breakfast hamper) which we opened, poured two glasses and headed just a few steps outside our cottage and sunk our selves in to the warm spa...it was just bliss! The bell birds were singing, there were wild Kanagroos hopping around the place, and as the evening approachd, the bright stars pierced through the night sky..amazing!
The owners are the friendliest accommodation owners we have ever met, and couldn't do enough for us. We had booked a tour through them (Hunter Valley Boutique Wine tours) which was amazing very informative, and also a couples massage which again was just perfect. They came out to the cottages so you just had to enjoy it.
I would highly recommend this as a great place to base yourself if wanting to do one of the tours. It's a little way out of the main centre, which is great, but be prepared for a taxi, or someone to drive - however if you ask nicely - John (owner) is willing or organise something for you at a very reasonable price. He is also very knowlegeable on the area and where to dine. We took his recommendations on two nights and we were more than happy. Bistro Molines is definitely worth a visit.
Looking forward to returning to the Hunter Valley soon and I know where I will be staying!
