What wonderful people John and Andy are. Friendly welcoming and very hospitable. Loved the cabin, the serenity, the added extras such as the breakfast basket (lasted us for 2 mornings), the chocolates and the red wine waiting for us when we got there, as well as a pre - warmed spa!! Very close to all the wineries which John and Andy would only be too happy to book a tour of for you, they booked our coach ride to Hope Estate to see Bruce Springsteen - it was all too easy!! Thanks John and Andy - we will be back!!!

We have been staying at the Cottages now for the past 5 years, it is our home away from home. John and Andy are the most gracious host, nothing is too much trouble.
Our breakfast basket is always overflowing and the spa is always warm, just ready for us to start relaxing from the minute we get there.
We feel like we are on our own as our neighbours are so far away that we don't even know they are there. There is no traffic noise, just the bell birds as you come into Mountview, that is how we know we have finally arrived.
I'm not one to sleep in but I can't help but when I'm in our cottage.
It hasn't changed in 5 years, which is a very good thing for us, I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Room Tip: If you want a mountain view choose room 1 or 2, otherwise for a more secluded experience room 3 or 4

I stayed at the cottages in August last year with my mother. We needed to get away and de-stress. We could not have chosen a better place. The property was secluded, yet close enough to town and the wineries, the best of both worlds. On arrival we were welcomed by a lovely basket of goodies containing breakfast supplies, chocolates and a very nice bottle of wine. The cottage was clean, comfortable, containing all the required amenities. The bonus was the log fireplace which made the cottage cosy and warm. The owners John and Andy were amazing, even coming to rescue us when we got lost at night coming back from one of the more remote wineries. Now that is service! They were more than happy to assist us in planning our sight-seeing, and suggesting places to eat etc. Another great feature of our cottage was the spa. It was very liberating being able to sit in the spa under the stars, in winter... I would (and have) recommend these cottages to anyone wishing to stay in the Hunter.

Room Tip: Highly recommend the deluxe spa cabin.

Stayed over the long weekend for two nights...we had an amazing time here, cottage was warm, cosy and just perfect.

Thanks to John and Andy for their kind hospitality, on arrival we were welcomed with a basket full of breakfast goodies and a delicious bottle of red wine. And well done to them on the decor which wasn't out dated or overly contemporary, they got the country cottage feel just right.

We enjoyed the private outdoor spa under the stars at night.. We even lit the log burning fire which gave the cottage a nice homely warmth.

Location is gorgeous, a secluded area surrounded by nature and a couple of local joey's grazing in the grounds. It was nice to be away from the city for a change. It's also only a 15-20 minute drive to the local groceries and 5 minutes to the closest vineyard. Definitely will come back here again.

We stayed here over the Christmas break to avoid the crowds and just to relax after a long year of work we stayed in cottage 4 which is last cottage so its pretty private the nearest cottage is 20m away and the other two are up on hill behind and cant been seen from the cottage. got a bottle of wine and choccies on arrival the cottage's are very clean and have a country vibe about them if you cant relax here you will never be able to there is a hammock in the tree to lie in and the cleanest BBQ hot plate ive seen i spent a while cleaning it back to the original look LOL.
The owner's are proud of this resort you can tell when you first walk in.
overall there are 4 cottages spaced out well with outdoor spa's not sure if all 4 have them.
There are no tennis courts pool etc which is good get you back with nature and close to vineyards if your into it

Room Tip: Cottage 3 and 4 down near a gully very private 1 and 2 up top overlooking bush

The cottages are a bit over priced for the amenities offered. Cottages are clean & tidy, located in a bushland, may seem bit out of the way. Not all cottages have mountain view. Sometimes the insects get too noisy. Overall a good stay

We've stayed at dozens of places in the Hunter (while organising a wedding over several months), and this is our favourite. It feels secluded and private, but you're only a few minutes away from the vineyards. The outdoor spa (pre-heated) allows you to rock up and jump straight in, enjoy the stars at night and some incredible bird life in the morning or after a day out and about. And did I mention the wood fire? Go stay here.
