My partner booked this as a surprise birthday treat and what a lovely one.Superbly located near the beach, and a beautiful walk to Cathedral Cove. This B/B offers wonderful breakfasts, superb accommodation, great information about the area and very hospitable hosts.
We would thoroughly recommend this B/B to everyone.

Room Tip: Both rooms are beautifully appointed, one is a suite with it's own lounge, on the ground floor...

We arrived in beautiful Hahei in the late afternoon and were happy to learn from the convenience store that Jill and Graeme had already been expecting us. In fact, they took the trouble to inform the store manager to look out for us, in case we couldn't find their lodge across the main road. For the next couple of days, we were treated to the most thoughtful hospitality.

Our garden suite was lovely and spacious, and had two adjacent rooms sharing a (huge) ensuite and a small hallway leading to the living area of the house. In our unit, we had everything we needed, including a hot water flask, a TV (which we didn’t spend much time watching), some lounge chairs, a sofa/bed, large closets, electric blankets, an electric heater, and even a private outdoor garden. The way leading to this quaint little garden outside, which incidentally Graeme built all by himself, would also be our private entrance to the house, so we pretty much could leave and go explore the town and its surroundings at our liberty.

Jill cooks a wonderful breakfast every morning for her guests, and we tried both the continental and cooked versions over the two days we were there. There were home-made breads, (marvellous) omelettes, yoghurts, and always an elaborate dessert. As well, there never failed to be a lively exchange about all kinds of topics across the table.

Cathedral Court is well-located, and is right on the main road leading in to Hahei. Situated just across the convenience store (as mentioned before) and a fairly priced restaurant called the Grange, it is just a few paces or a five minute stroll to Hahei beach, some three blocks away. From there, there is an easy access route on foot to the Cathedral Cove car park and trail.

For local sightseeing and transport, such as to Hot Water Beach, Mercury Bay, Ferry Landing, consider Graeme's self-run shuttle service. For a fee, he can take you on a tour around the region - and you don't want to miss the histories he has to tell, of Maori warriors, Captain Cook's explorations, and the industrial past of Coromandel.

A lovely, perfect stay if you ask me. Thanks Graeme and Jill once again.

Ps: if you don't drive, you can get to Hahei from Auckland/Ngatea/Thames with the Tairua Bus Company. They offer a reliable intercity service, which operates on a daily and scheduled basis.

My husband and I stayed here for a night as part of our honeymoon. It was the first stop after a night in Auckland and it was a great relief. What a difference a few hours from big city life will bring. The house was beautiful and we were impressed with the Garden Suite. We had our own entrance so we could come and go as we pleased. Jill immediately started to show us on the map a look out point where we could hike up to see all of Hahei and easy directions to Hot Water Beach. The location of the house was perfect, we were about 3 blocks to Hahei Beach and a ten minute drive to Hot Water Beach. Spades for Hot Water Beach were also provided for us. The absolute best part of our stay was the amazing breakfast that Jill prepared for us. We were given a variety of fruits, homemade bread, eggs, pancakes, hash browns, juice, coffee, etc. Breakfast was filled with great conversation. My husband and I left feeling full and ready to start the day. Jill let us keep our luggage with her while we drove up to Cathedral Cove for the day. She did not want us to have to worry about leaving our luggage in the car. Jill also suggested Mercury Bay winery which was just fantastic. Jill was very accommodating and kind. When we drove off and were waiving goodbye, I had tears in my eyes. What a great experience!

The town of Hahei is very quiet, there is a cafe, a spot for dinner and a general store located just across the street.

Room Tip: Garden suite has great privacy

Had a great 3 days with this great couple. Enjoyed all your stories and yarns Graeme! One day it poured and local Eateries were closed so Jill made us a lovely home cooked meal which we appreciated after nearly 4 weeks of hotel and restaurant food. Lovely private suite of rooms, the extra space was much valued and appreciated .Coromandel Peninsular is a great place allow more time than we did to do it Justice. Often wonder if you visited the Vineyard Graeme?

We were received in the best ways, Jill and Graham were the perfect host. The rooms are very clean and they are big and comfortable. Jill prepares a big breakfast and she likes cooking so it is very tasty. Hahei is really near to Whitianga and it is only 5 minutes driving to hot water beach.
We strongly recommend this bed and breakfast

I would definitely recommend Cathedral Court, which was the first place we stayed in New Zealand (three nights). Jill and Graeme Noakes were very welcoming. Jill makes excellent breakfasts served between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m., among the best breakfasts we had during our three weeks in NZ! Unfortunately, rainy weather meant we weren't able to have breakfast on the patio. Jill did a great job of preparing breakfast even during a power outage!

We stayed in the Garden Suite. While I wouldn't describe it as totally spotless, it was very clean and well appointed with a refrigerator, free wireless Internet access, a nice sitting area and patio and a spacious bathroom.

Although there was plenty of closet space, there was no dresser and not enough hangers. But I discovered that drawer space is limited in all of the motels we stayed in, so perhaps this is how things are done in New Zealand. The ceiling/floor above creaks, so I could see that might be a problem if the room upstairs was occupied by people who are up late at night. No one rented it while we were there, so it didn't bother us too much.

Cathedral Court is an easy walk (less than 5 min.) to the beach and the B&B is literally across the street from Hahei's "shopping center", which consists of a convenience store, two restaurants, a gift shop and a takeaway pizza place that also has ice cream.

Jill and Graeme were so friendly and helpful, I was reluctant to leave! We definitely felt they gave us a great introduction to New Zealand.

We stayed for 3 nights over Christmas. The on plus side - the room was spacious with a seperate lounge, patio area and private entrance. On the downside it was not completely self contained with the door into the main house not being lockable which meant that we didn't feel it was completely private. The breakfasts are lovely and a different option is given each day although not particularly flexible as you have to have finished eating by 9am - this was too early for us over the Xmas period when we wanted to relax and sleep in! It was well located in Hahei close to the beach and easy access to Cathedral Cove with a short drive to Hot Water beach. Free wifi is a nice touch as it meant that we could skype our families and friends on Xmas Day.
