“Started out as guests, left as friends.”
Reviewed 8 December 2013 via mobile

This was the second B&B we stayed in on our New Zealand holiday. To be quite honest we didn't think our first could be matched. How wrong we were. Communication via e-mail between us was first rate. Very easy to find and after a short drive from Whangerei. On our arrival we were welcomed warmly by Jeff, our host. We were shown to around his house he shares with his beautiful wife Trish. We were told to make ourselves at home. Their house is our house. We had full access to the living areas. Their house is immaculate. Furnished and decorated to the highest standard. We were shown to our room upstairs. You enter into a lounge area with sofa and arm chair, sideboard which has tea/ coffee making facilities with integrated fridge which had milk and homemade cake. What a lovely touch. Great selection of teas and coffee's. Homemade Shortbread in a jar too! Coffee table in the centre and large flat screen TV in the corner. Through the patio door onto the deck area. Table and four chairs where you can relax with a drink and soak up the magnificent view. Peaceful and relaxing. We had a choice of either room. Unless you are travelling as a foursome with friends the other room is never let out at the same time. Very thoughtful. We chose the Fantail Room as I like a bath as opposed to a shower. Again the bedrooms are quite magnificent. Had a look in the Tui room and that also was decorated and furnished to the highest standard. All toiletries supplied, even cotton buds. Just a lovely touch and shows that a lot of thought and consideration had gone into it. Both rooms have air con. Plenty of wardrobe space too. Essential if your travelling with big suitcases. Breakfast was absolutely fabulous. Cereals, muesli, toast, fresh fruit, fruit juices, tea and coffee. This was in addition to a full English breakfast cooked by Jeff. Tried Whitebait fritters one morning. They were fantastic! Free access to laundry too. This proved to be very welcome as we were away for 5 weeks and this enabled us to keep up with the washing. Free Wi-Fi also provided Jeff and Trish's local knowledge was unrivalled. They were always willing to spend time with you and have a chat. We spent a very enjoyable few hours sat on the patio just talking and sampling Jeff's home brew.
Jeff and Trish have hit the mark. They have a wonderful home which they love you to share with them, are very engaging and welcoming. Our time with them was over far too quickly. We didn't want to leave but we were looking forward to discovering New Zealand.
Just a little thing that Jeff does to welcome you further ( not that he needs to ) is to fly your National Flag from the flagpole. Told the family back home via Facebook that the Royals were in residence. We certainly were made to feel like them.
Do yourselves a favour and stay here. You will not be disappointed.

Quite simply this is the best bed and breakfast we have ever stayed at in the world. Everything about Rewa House was outstanding - our hosts, accommodation and location. After a round the world trip this is the place we would rate as No 1 of all the places we stayed and such excellent value for money. We recommend that any visitors to the Coromandel Peninsula base themselves here. Trish and Jeff were certainly the most generous hosts and the kindest people you could wish to meet.

Trish and Jeff are warm and generous hosts. This was the first B&B where we stayed in New Zealand, and it set a standard that is hard to meet.

The two guest rooms are in a private area upstairs. They share a common living area with a pantry provisioned with tea and coffee makings, as well as decadent biscuits and goodies. There is a large balcony off the living area. Our room was very comfortable.

When we arrived, Trish offered wine, and the second night, there was wine and cheese and other good things to nibble.

Breakfast was truly extravagant. We were the only guests, but the breakfast table was overflowing with good things to eat. The preserved plums were the best we have ever had. No other B&B came close. There were various kinds of yogurt, lots of different jams and honeys, loads of fruit, various cereals and muesli - oh, and home-made muffins. And then came the cooked breakfast!!!

Trish and Jeff were very helpful in terms of our touring the area, making excellent recommendations. They are such wonderful people, and we were so fortunate to get to know them. We felt completely comfortable with them in no time. We wish you the best, Trish and Jeff. You deserve that.

My wife and I had a great experince with Jeff and Trish.

Two beautiful people with genuine soul and heart.

I will only share that time passed as if my wife and I encountered two lifelong friends.

Their friendliness never encroached on their professional service.

We cannot begin to leave an adequate recommendation.

The other reviews speak for themselves.

There is no question why this place is #1.

Keep up your spirits Jeff and Trish.

You make life worth living to keep meeting souls like yours!

TripAdvisor need to have a new category of Excellent + to cater for this B&B !
Trish and Jeff the down to earth hosts were born to be B&B hosts. They are the most friendly and helpful I have come across.
Their home is set in 2.4 acres of tropical garden. The guest accommodation on the first floor comprises two superb bedrooms and a shared lounge and deck area overlooking the water.
For Breakfast there was a wide choice of hot and cold food, they encouraged us to try everything, which we did and it was all first class.

Room Tip: One has a roll top bath with a large window overlooking the trees, plus a shower. The other has a sh...

If there is a better B&B in New Zealand, would someone please let me know where it is. Anyone thinking of staying in the Corromandel should stay in Tairua at Rewa House. Where do I start? The Fantail room is just lovely, with a separate dressing room and a bath. Outside the room is a very comfortable sitting area shared with the other room with complementary homemade cookies, beer in the fridge, bottled water, lots of different teas and coffees etc. The hosts Jeff and Trish are just so welcoming and easy to get on with - we felt like lold friends after just 5 minutes! Breakfast was spectacular, from Jeff's cooked breakfast to Trish's homemade baking. And left over muffins etc were filled with jam, wrapped in foil and left for us to take away for lunch. Just fantastic and at an amazingly reasonable price.

The Rewa House is a fantastic B&B. Jeff and Trish are two of the most warm, welcoming and gracious hosts that we have ever met in all of our travels. We highly recommend their B&B, sumptuous breakfasts, beautiful Cormandel scenery, lovely home and spacious immaculate bedrooms. We were sad to leave and felt as if we were saying goodbye to dear friends.

Room Tip: Both rooms are lovely!
